Bytemology of Retronym, OCTADE. Yinzer phonics. Butterfly Perfume.

OCTADE or OCTAD is a retro word that means either an octal digit of three bits, or an octal octet or an eight-bit byte. Thus an octade, depending on its historical use, is either 3 bits or 8 bits.

OCTADE was used to specify eight bits, as opposed to BYTE which is not necessarily eight bits as the word BYTE could signify any of several numbers of bits.

This yields the retro 1337 numbers of 38 and 83. The number 38 is one more than 37 so a bit more elite a bit cooler. Thus it owns cardinally shorter byterz.

83 mod 38 equals 7, the highest octal digit. 838 mod 383 equals 72 or 9 times 8 which is 8 squared plus 8.

8338 mod 3883 equals 572 which is 72 times 8 minus 4 or 71.5 times 8.

8383 mod 3838 equals 707 which is 88 times 8 plus 3.

I prefer the old word OCTADE to the word BYTE. OCTADE sports a Euro-peon dignity and gravitas like an Internet serf ready to surf the worknet like pwnd peons. This is very true when pronouncing OCTADE with a thick Pennsyltucky Dutch or Yinzer accent. The Bostonian pronunciation sounds like bad beginner German or muffled mumbling of 'lactate.'

OCTADE or OCTAD was also used to describe a poem of eight stanzas.

OCTADE was also used to describe a period of eight years, or two leap years.

OCTADECANAL is a pheromone found in butterflies. It is butterfly perfume. I would not wear butterfly cologne. But I would sell it. Who would buy and wear my snobby smell? With wordplay we can call it OCTADE CHANNEL No. 8 . All rights reserved, ye French odor snooties.

The world is full of fools who want nothing more than to sledge others into conformity with their twisted ideals and delusions. And when they can't batter you down, they never stop slandering, attacking, harassing, ostracizing, nit-picking, name-calling, ad nauseum.

"Everything was fine until he showed up."

I hate to say it, but many humans are savage monsters deserving to be ruled by the likes of Starmer. They love being empowered to oppress their neighbor any way they can, and the politcos give them that so they can feel like they are achieving something. In reality their lives are meaningless and void of achievement.

Being aimless and free of accomplishment, they enlist political and religious low-lifes to pillow-talk them about what great people they are and how grand they are.

When I run out of sugar I try to delay buying more for as many days as I can stand going without some sweetness. So I actually end up doing all the things to my morning jitter juice.

Behold! The net cop gives expensive advice! You are basically requiring that I pay for yet another ERC20 cryptocurrency token just to send text messages.

                  From the Autonomi site:

"WHEN SOMEONE (A PERSON OR A COLLECTIVE) UPLOADS DATA THEY PAY A FEE TO DO SO."
"+1 Million tokens on offer for early contributors."
MaidSafe is credited as having invented the ICO. I wouldn't touch it or any of its descendant projects with a ten-foot pole.
"MaidSafe are the team behind Autonomi ..."
Didn't you learn from Maidsafe+Mastercoin ICO and ten thousand other ICOs already? The purpose of digital 'tokens' is to separate gullible people from their dollars or euros or yuan or rubles, providing in return something they could already have for free or so cheap it's nearly free. It appears that the people behind Maidsafe are also behind the crypto token you are suggesting, for merely posting text files. Get outta here!

                  Newscard has several selling points:

                  0. It's not for sale. Try that with Autonomi, Maidsafe, and a thousand others.
                  1. It is free, unlike your suggested cryptocurrency pump.
                  2. My solution is simple and elegant - naming small text files for retrieval.
                  3. Newscard uses existing infrastructure already in operation for decades.
                  4. Many mature client softwares and terminal emulators already exist for the task.
                  5. Newscard doesn't require investment or payment.
                  6. Newscard doesn't have an integrated, useless payment system.
                  7. Newscard is ANONYMOUS and uses The Onion Network by default.
                  8. Users won't lose their money when using Newscard.

And my Newscard solution doesn't require taking zillions of dollars from people who will likely never see a return on their token investment. Storage token sale schemes are a dime a dozen. I can't believe you think I have the credulity to swallow such a scheme.

For almost two decades running countless crews have claimed that they will, 'decentralize the Internet' if you give them your money.

Newsflash: The Internet already is decentralized. Decentralization is a basic part of the design of the Internet. It already routes around damage and censorship by default. Why do I need to pay for a crypto token for something that already exists? Decentralized Usenet has been in continuous operation for decades. I'm already using the 'decentralized Internet' for the Newscard protocol. I've been using the 'decentralized Internet' since forever! It doesn't need to be decentralized by crypto pump schemes. The Internet is already decentralized.

So we already have a decentralized Internet where data storage is abundant and cheap. And these token pumpers want to set themselves up as gatekeepers so we have to pay them to get the tokens to store our data. That is not decentralization. That is the essence of a centralized monetary gatekeeper!

You accused me of misusing Usenet. Yet I am only doing what people have done with Usenet for decades--posting encrypted messages. I'm not misusing Usenet. You're misusing my patience for cryptocurrency dumps and re-hashed token sales strategies.

NEWSCARD: Decentralized, Encrypted Paste Bin via Usenet Newsgroups

NEWSCARD Publish and fetch permanent named records via Network News

Newscard creates a decentralized, encrypted, named record paste bin.

[git repo] https://codeberg.org/OCTADE/newscard (use most recent version only)

With a single command, name the card, snarf the file and encrypt it.

With another command, push the encrypted file to the public network.

With another short command, snarf a file from the network.

Only users knowing the name [key] of the record will be able to decrypt it.

If a strong passphrase is used to name the file, it will be very secure.

This is useful for quickly snarfing, encrypting, and publishing a text file:

                    $~: card enc [passphrase] [file]
                    $~: card put [passphrase]

It is useful for retrieving a text file with just a key:

                    $~: card get [passphrase]
                    $~: card show [passphrase]

If and when you want the general public to access the record just share the keyword.

Newscard uses nine (9) (NINE) layers of encryption with OpenSSL chacha20 cipher.

Newscard generates 9 each of: cipher keys, salts, key iteration parameters.

It would be nice if something like this were added to the ActivityPub protocol, such that keyword[@]host.url would do the same thing. Then secret text records could be stored securely for later retrieval or revelation.

The Law of Moses commands the death penalty for rape. The men who wrote the bible executed rapists. They did not put them in jail. They unalived rapos and chomos. They were way ahead of their time, as the pagan nations around them had child brides and child sex slaves, and forced women into prostitution, and practiced ritual rape and ritual human sacrifices. But not the Hebrews under Moses. Anyone caught doing any of those things in the camp of Moses was unalived swiftly.

"But if in the open country a man finds a girl who is betrothed, and he forces her and lies with her, then only the man who lay with her must die. Do nothing to the girl, because she has committed no sin deserving of death. This case is like that of someone who attacks and murders his neighbor, for when he found her in the field, the betrothed girl cried out, but there was no one to save her." (Deuteronomy 22:25-27)

Dear Congressman / Congresswoman / Senator,

                                ABOLISH THE INCOME TAX NOW!

This is the most important letter I have ever penned to a public official. My message is that the income tax on worker wages is a insidious form of slavery that must be abolished. This is not a Democrat issue or a Republican issue. This is an issue of real justice for a nation of impoverished workers being taxed with a gratuitous and unnecessary income tax that has steadily lowered personal wealth and autonomy for several generations.

                                ABOLISH THE INCOME TAX NOW!

ABOLISH: verb; To do away with; put an end to; annul; to eradicate; to destroy completely; make void.

Notice that ABOLISH does not mean:

                                cut ; lessen ; lower.

It means to completely get rid of, en toto, entirely, as in ABOLISH SLAVERY.

So give no place to word games, Honorable Sir or Madame. Just. ABOLISH. INCOME. TAX. NOW.

Recently President Trump has vowed to push for the abolition of the income tax on American worker wages and replace the revenue streams with a tariff system. I require you get behind Mr. Trump, despite his warts and pimples and dimples and whatever character issues or political peeves and quibbles you might have with him--and move full steam ahead to draft, approve, legislate, and enter into law a bill abolishing the federal personal income tax on all domestic wages for all United States Citizens.

The income tax is a relic of feudal barbarism and imperialist war-making barbarism. It enriches a internationalist political class which is able to suck grants and subsidies from its piggly teat while disbursing tiny squirts and crumbs to the American people and their infrastructure. As an American, I have had enough of this thievery of my wages for funding every grimy and useless rent seeker under the sun.

Millions of Americans don't want to hear whiny excuses about how the Federal Government can't function without the Federal Income Tax. That is nonsense. America functioned for several generations during her greatest period of industrial and economic growth and power without an income tax. Then when the World Wars were ramping up we were saddled with this 'war tax' on our income to fund the war. Since then the taxes have kept us impoverished while making the war machine and grifter classes very rich. Workers' standard of living has steadily declined since the income tax was introduced and illegally retained after the World War about a hundred years ago.

I require that you push for, and vote yes on a COMPLETE AND TOTAL ABOLITION of the income tax for all employee wages, and ensure no new taxes are ever again levied on employee wages. If FedGov can print trillions of dollars to fund overseas adventures and endless wars, then FedGov doesn't need to be taxing us for anything. FedGov already taxes us through inflation anyway. Why the hell should any of us have to fill out a return? Maybe FedGov should file a return to us each year to show how much of our labor inflation has stolen from us.

If you don't work strenuously toward abolishing the federal income tax I will vote for whoever decides to run against you. If the federal income tax is abolished, I will vote for your re-election.

                                ABOLISH INCOME TAX NOW!

Very truly yours in freedom and liberation from tax serfdom,

                                John Doe American

Trump is REALLY serious about eliminating Income Tax (IMPORTANT)

(IMPORTANT!) I don't much care for politics but this is a positive development for everyone.

(Boost, Copypasta to other networks, text your mom ... this is great news!)

Trump is talking very seriously about eliminating the income tax for U.S. Citizens. This is the first time a President has had the stones to seriously approach this issue. The income tax is the bread and butter of the military-industrial complex, which enriches itself on our backs. There is no time better than now to abolish the Federal Income Tax.

I don't believe the anti-tariff fear-mongerings. America funded its operations on tariffs for several generations, with no federal income tax at all. Plus the income tax is a war tax. It was implemented specifically, and I do mean SPECIFICALLY, for funding the war machine. Gutting the income tax guts the war machine.

There will be a lot of resistance from the Federal Reserve and the war machine military industrial complex. They depend on the income tax to foment wars and socially engineer our lives and their total information awareness panopticon.

The American people are taxed and that money is used to enrich the rich and the rest of the world through subsidies, bribes, grants, etc. Instead America should tax the rest of the world and enrich the American people. Abolishing the progressive personal income tax on wages is the first step in the right direction.

Whether you are Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, or whatever, now is the time to write to your representatives and demand that they support the abolition of the income tax. Fifty million letters should fill up Congressional mailboxes with ABOLISH THE INCOME TAX ON WAGES NOW! ABOLISH, NOT REDUCE! ABOLISH, NOT CUT! ABOLISH! emblazoned on the envelopes.

This is serious. It doesn't matter if your party lost or won the election. What matters is that we get this tax gorilla off the backs of all Americans. We have a President seriously talking about it repeatedly. Trump kept his promises to pardon Ross Ulbricht and other persons given draconian punishments by the courts. He has kept several other political promises. He promised to stump before Congress for the abolition of the income tax. Don't let the momentum die on this proposition. Don't let him wane on his commitment to abolition of the income tax. Get behind it and push!

Abolishing the income tax will do more good for American workers than all the political promises of the last twelve Presidential elections. This is an opportunity for real change for the average American.

The man page used to define sudo as (su)+(do), meaning, 'substitute user' and 'do'. So the pronunciation would be as in 'voodoo' Yet I like that people say it more than one way because it is meme-able. Sudo with a long 'o' sounds like judo, like the admin is wrangling the computer.

If some pedantic pointilist wants to argue about the pronunciation, tell 'em to get some sunlight!

                                                  SYNOPSIS

There is no historical or textual evidence that the tetragrammaton was pointed as a 'qere' in the ancient biblical manuscripts. The claim that JHWH is a qere for Adonai is ahistorical and there are only conjectures and not proofs for the qere claim.

Moreover, the structure of the Hebrew grammar proves the tetragrammaton cannot be two syllables, as in the modern neologism, 'yahweh'. The tetragrammaton has to be three syllables, JE-HO-VAH and its shortened form is two syllables: JEHO. Its poetic form is one syllable: YAH and JAH. And there is no support for YAHWEH.

Today we are told that the tetragrammaton or 'sacred name of God' was not pronounced out of 'reverence' for the divine name. This is a Hellenist myth and wasn't even started by Hebrew-speaking people. The tetragrammaton was spoken often inside and outside of the temple, with certain rules about when and where and why it was to be spoken. But there was no actual rule or custom against speaking it--Just rules about making sure to not speak it amiss.

                                                  NOTES

Upon reading this article some things stand out to me.

Many claim that the divine name was not spoken and was substituted with 'qere' to avoid speaking it out of reverence for the name. And this is a lie.

Anyone who reveres a name actually wants to speak it and does so with respect and pride, rather than substituting a nickname. It is when we hate someone that we refuse to speak their name or prohibit others from speaking it. For example, most of the world hates the mustache man, and invoking his name is discouraged in polite conversation.

The Hebrew bible text itself repeatedly commands Israel to proclaim the divine name, not to hide it behind nicknames. Any reverence for God and his commandments would prohibit the use of 'qere' substitutions. Thus those who invented these customs were not revering God--they were dishonoring him deceitfully.

So the claim that the name was not to be spoken is nonsensical religious dogma of certain mystical sects, and not historical practice of either the temple priests or the Christians who inherited the Levitical tradition after the destruction of the temple. We must remember true history: When the temple was destroyed, the surviving Jews in Jerusalem were carried off into captivity into other parts of the world by Rome. The Jews who had converted to following Jesus before the destruction of the temple had already escaped Jerusalem before the Roman siege, and carried the traditions with them, and preserved them in early Christianity. These first Christians, most of whom were Jews, had no such custom or injunction against saying the divine name, and it shows in their writings, and in their predecessors copious transliteration of the name. Their tradition was the foundation of European Christianity, which joined forces with the Sephardim to preserve the Old Testament and Hebrew language for over a millennium of years. The Masoretes properly pointed all the words, including the divine name, to preserve their pronunciations.

The entire purpose of the Masoretic vowel pointings was specifically to preserve the correct pronunciation of every Hebrew word in the text, not to hide the pronunciation. There would have been a worldwide uproar in the scholarly community over such a practice as wrongly writing the divine name or mispronouncing it. The historical record is silent on such a thing ever occurring.

The name Jehovah with the 'J' sound is correct ancient Hebrew pronunciation of the divine name. Just as the Sephardim scribes have preserved it all these centuries, the Christian scribes took over their tradition and continued to preserve it from the time of the reformation onward. When Tyndale rendered the name as IEHOUA, he was using the pronunciation taught by the Masoretic scribes and their Christian cohorts. It was not an 'invention' but rather a transliteration into English characters of the day.

We are now at a new crossroads in history where many occultists, kabbalists, pagans, and sectarians are once again attacking the divine name and trying to cloud it with confusion and false myths. This is what liars have always done--invent stories to support their delusions. Perhaps in the coming centuries we should expect another vanguard to come and take of the tradition of preserving the name against this army of confusion.

"Is it true that the name Jehovah borrowed its vowels from Adonai?"

Spoiler: No, it is not true. It is a fabrication of a false history. The pronunciation, JEHOVAH was used centuries before Galatinus, so it is impossible for him to have invented it. Moreover, there is a lack of historical evidence that medieval scholars before Galatinus accepted any pronunciation other than JEHOVAH. They all appear to have unanimously supported this one widely known pronunciation of the tetragrammaton.

A lot of religious and textual myths have resulting in mass misconceptions about biblical textual history and meaning. Some of the myths misrepresent the tetragrammaton, or the name of God. This eventually led to the creation of the artificial name, Yahweh, which is not a Hebrew word, and is in fact a cleverly disguised classical Latin name for Jove. The author defrocks the Galatinus origin myth, proving the name JEHOVAH was in use long before Galatinus.

The sacred name mythos is popular in some Christian and Jewish sects as well as among the Hebrew Roots movement. This paper exposes some of the false history and baseless assertions about the pronunciation of the tetragrammaton. As it turns out, the early Masoretes and some early Catholics and the later Reformers had gotten it right - JEHOVAH is the correctly preserved pronunciation of the name of God. The name was never 'lost' and it has been known all through recorded history, if even only by a few.
