I recently bought a new computer. It came with OEM Windoze pre-installed. I booted it and it required me to first connect to the Internet and create a Microsoft account before I could even use the operating system. I immediately recognized that as a way to link all my hardware serial numbers with my contact information. Then they can forever track the computer and link it to every network resource ever accessed. No thanks. I wiped the data drive and installed Linux.
