Let us consider the original purpose of 'democracy'. The Greek slaveholders invented democracy to keep the helots and slaves in line across their city states. When the serfs in one city state got uppety the rulers would get together and import serfs from another city state to create conflict with the locals, so they fight each other instead of the masters. Sometime slave uprising were actually instigated by military spies, to create pretexts for further repression by 'democratic process.'

Democracy is a fascist slave system and it is working exactly as intended. The dumb helots and serfs get to pick sock puppets while the real rulers aren't even mentioned by name.
