Stop Striving and Start Trusting God

Are you exhausted from trying to make everything happen? The world teaches us to strive, struggle, compete, and push harder. God's Kingdom operates differently. Through faith, trust, and simple obedience, we discover the freedom of letting God carry the results. Jesus has already overcome every opposing force. He has already won every battle. He has already secured every victory. There is no competition for His throne, no rival to His authority, and no obstacle beyond His power. Nothing can stand against Him! In God's Kingdom, we are not called to strive. We are called to trust. Click here to read the full devotional. ✨ [SENSITIVE CONTENT]

            Today’s One Year Bible Verses: 1 Kings 18:1–46, Acts 11:1–30, Psalm 135:1–21, Proverbs 17:12–13

            Nothing Stands Against Him

After worship this morning, the Lord told me to look up the definition of striving when He whispered this Gem of Knowledge to me:

“It’s silly to think about striving. Look up the definition. It doesn’t even exist in My Kingdom. Here it is simply doing or not doing. Period.”

Well, that certainly got my attention.

            So I looked it up.

Striving means to make great efforts, exert yourself vigorously, struggle to achieve a goal, contend against opposing forces, or compete for a prize or position.

As I read those definitions, something immediately stood out to me.

            Vigorously. Strenuous. Struggle. Contending. Competing.

            The Lord was right.

None of these things exist in His Kingdom. Jesus has already overcome every opposing force. He has already won every battle. He has already secured every victory. There is no competition for His throne, no rival to His authority, and no obstacle beyond His power.

            Nothing can stand against Him.

In God’s Kingdom, we are not called to strive. We are called to trust. We are called to obey.

As I continued reading today’s Scriptures, I noticed something fascinating: God wasn’t asking anyone to strive. He was simply asking them to do what He said.

The contrast is especially clear on Mount Carmel. The prophets of Baal spent hours striving. They shouted louder. They danced harder. They cut themselves. They exhausted themselves trying to force a response from a god who could not answer.

Everything about their actions was striving.

            Meanwhile, Elijah simply obeyed.

            He rebuilt the altar.
            He prepared the sacrifice.
            He drenched it with water.
            Then he prayed.

            That was it.

Elijah did not strive to make fire fall from heaven. He did not manipulate the situation or manufacture a miracle. He simply did what God told him to do and trusted God with the outcome.

            And God responded.

Fire fell from heaven, consumed the sacrifice, the altar, the stones, the dust, and even the water in the trench. The people fell on their faces declaring, “The Lord—he is God! Yes, the Lord is God!” (1 Kings 18:39, NLT).

What a powerful reminder that God’s power is not released through our striving. It is released through our obedience.

We see the same principle in Acts 11. Peter was criticized for entering the home of Gentiles. He could have argued, defended himself, or tried to convince everyone through his own efforts. Instead, he simply shared what God had shown him and what God had done.

The believers recognized God’s hand in the situation and glorified Him.

            Again, we see the pattern:

            Not striving.
            Not forcing.
            Not manipulating.
Simply obeying and allowing God to work.

            Psalm 135 declares:

“The Lord does whatever pleases him throughout all heaven and earth.” (Psalm 135:6, NLT)

What freedom there is in that truth. The success of God’s plans does not depend on our ability to strive harder. It depends on His power.

So many of us are exhausted because we are trying to do God’s job. We are striving to change people, fix situations, control outcomes, and make things happen. Meanwhile, God is simply asking us to obey the next thing He has placed before us.

The burden of producing results belongs to Him…The responsibility of obedience belongs to us. 💎

            Action (5 Minutes with God)

Give 5 minutes of your day today and surrender to the Lord. Ask Him:

            • Lord, what do You want me to know about this personally?”
              • Journal what He gives you through His Holy Spirit.
            • Then ask, “What do You want me to do?”
              • Journal what He reveals – then do it!

Ask the Lord to reveal an area where you have been striving instead of trusting. Surrender the outcome to Him and focus only on the next step of obedience He has placed before you.

            Prayer

Father, thank You for reminding me that I do not have to carry burdens You never intended me to carry. Forgive me for the times I have tried to force outcomes, control circumstances, or accomplish things in my own strength. Help me trust You more fully. Teach me to walk in simple obedience and leave the results in Your hands. Thank You that You have already overcome every obstacle and secured every victory. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, Amen.

              Planting seeds of willing sacrifice

              Psalm 126:6
              >"He who goes out weeping, bearing precious seed, will surely return with shouts of joy, carrying sheaves of grain."

Have you had the privilege of meeting the needs of someone unable to care for themselves? You know what carries you through the days when your body and finances aren't keeping up; it's their gratitude. Your child's adoring gaze, or your pet pressing their head into you, or the squeeze of your grandparent's hand; they all communicate that your time and energy were appreciated. This kind of thanks isn't just for the temporary benefit. It's a sign of a loving connection. Our attachment to one another makes life worth living, and death our greatest enemy.

              Matthew 13:31-32
              > "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man sowed in his field. It is the smallest of seeds sown in a garden, but when it's grown, it is the largest of herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air can nest in its branches."

Our helpless loved ones are our field. When the strong gladly make things fair for the weak, it sows seeds of compassion and connection in our hearts. What we sow, we will reap, if our ground is good. It means our motives should match God's directive to love.(Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Mark 12:28-31, Leviticus 19:18, 1 Corinthians 13:1-13, Mark 4:14-20, Galatians 6:7, Jeremiah 4:1-4) When we love those who can't return our kindness, our compassion finds favor with God. (Matthew 5:43-48, Luke 10:25-37, Luke 14:12-14, Proverbs 19:17) Our actions prove that Jesus is alive in us. (Isaiah 26:12, Philippians 2:12-13)

Seeds of love sprout when watered with an attitude of gratitude. It seems our first spiritual ability is thankfulness. There's a lot of benefit to be found in focusing on what we're thankful for. The Bible and science agree on the benefits of dwelling on good things. (Philippians 4:8-9, 1Peter 2:12) It's not gratitude for having our needs met that makes us good ground, though. Anyone can be glad to get something good. When we value the heart of the person willing to make sacrifices for our good, that gives us something to appreciate, admire, and emulate. This high aspiration helps set a person on a higher trajectory. When we're connected to our community, our goals transcend this temporary life.

If we learn early to be thankful for the people who help us, we aspire to be like them. We more easily trust those who have our best interests in mind, even when things go wrong. Proverbs 30:17 warns us of the fate of those who never learn respect for their parents' sacrifices. How much more broken is a life that lacks a good mentor?

The trust we have for good parents, and our desire to be like them, can lead us to trust in, and desire to be like our Creator.
Psalm 17:13 shows how this life-sustaining trust brings us satisfaction that no gratitude for temporary benefit can provide. It says, "As for me, I will behold your face in righteousness. I will be satisfied when I awake with your likeness." (Psalm 17:13-15, Psalm 4:5-8, 1 John 3:2)

Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." We love our children and care for them, but we're also thankful to have them in our lives, even when they can't do anything to repay us for being their source of life.

Children naturally want the power and freedom adults have, because they lack the ability to meet their own needs. That's not narcissism, it's survival. When they see us meet their needs cheerfully, they want the joy we have too. Our positive attitude helps them associate benefit with their benefactor. You'll see a child's level of admiration for your compassion in how they act out parenting with their toys. This is why we're wise to avoid exposing our kids to anti-social values, like those taught in "the Barbie movie." Malignant feelings toward the helpless are not sustainable for us as a species. We've all been helpless before, and God-willing we live long enough, we'll be helpless again. That doesn't stop us from being a light to our world, even if we're just there to help someone else discover the eternal value of giving of oneself to make the world a better place for us all.

A spirit of thankfulness is a foundation for an abundant life. Jesus tells us this Holy Spirit is ours for the asking:

              (John 14:14-17)
              >14 "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments.
              16 "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
17 "the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

Just as a mustard seed will grow a mustard plant, if our kids want to be like us when they grow up, they will seek to discover the catalyst for our responsible behavior.

To promote empathy in our kids, we can educate them to realize power and strength don't last forever. Make opportunities for them to help with infants and the elderly. Remind them of their infancy. Prepare them for their future. Kids can learn to be thankful for their ability to do good while they can when they relate to those who cannot care for themselves. Proverbs 31:1-9, Luke 3:8-11, Job 29:11-17, Ecclesiastes 12:1-7

THE CHRISTIAN TRINITY IS THE GOLDEN CALF IDOL

The trinity is the golden calf at Sinai. When the Israelites came out of Egypt (the new covenant) they brought the trinity of Egypt with them in their hearts and minds.

You can take the Israelite out of Egypt, but you also need to take Egypt out of the Israelite! The trinity is the imaginary god of Egypt. The Christian religion is Egypt.

In order to enter the kingdom of God you must repent of worshiping the trinity. God the Father is not a trinity. Only the Father is God. The Christian doctrine of the trinity is the idol the prophets warned us about.

The Unitarian faith is the faith of the Apostles and the only true God. The Trinitarian faith is a false faith in a false, Greek, metaphyical construct.

The Bible is NOT a book of metaphysics. It uses spiritual examples and parables to describe concrete things. The Greco-Roman 'church fathers' poisoned the well by applying pagan metaphysics to the Bible, creating the cargo cult known as the Nicene Creed and the Athanasian Creed.

God the Father is a spirit. He is not a man. He did not incarnate as a man. He raised up and sent a man to be our sacrifice for sin. Everything the trinitarians teach twists the Bible into a lie.

The Christian religion is Egypt, Babylon, Assyria, Rome, Grecia, etc. The Christian religion is the culmination of the statue in Nebuchadnezzar's dream.

Come out of the religion and find the real Jesus and be free!

The promise of the new covenant is that when the new order came, those who follow God the Father will have no need of any teacher or bishop or hierarchy to tell them to know God. God said we would have no need of a man to be our teachers or spiritual fathers. God promised that all of us will know him directly and not need anyone other than Jesus to lead the way.

The Christian religion impersonates Jesus and stands in the way, usurping his throne, as prophesied.

The public restoration of the man at the Beautiful gate marked the early Church's first major sign, leaving the surrounding community "filled with wonder and amazement" (Acts 3:10 NKJV) at the miracle.

Jesus Is Not God! Repent And Be Saved!

I recently discovered this channel. I have watched some their streams exposing the insanity of militant trinitarians. They are doing good work.

Jonah's choice to flee from his assignment demonstrates that avoiding our calling only invites self-imposed hardships, showing how "the Lord sent out a great wind" (Jonah 1:4 NKJV) to disrupt his escape.

Here he comments on the phrase “bringing many sons to glory from Hebrews 2:10, and how those brought to this glory have a duty to obey and honor God. Then he explains how these “sons” include all sorts of conditions and sexes of people. He points out how this is reinforced in Corinthians.

WILLIAM GOUGE
(1578-1653)
Commentary on the Whole Epistle to the Hebrews
"That these duties may be performed according to the extent of the persons whom they concern, we must take notice that as all sorts and conditions of men, great and mean, rich and poor, young and old, so also both sexes, male and female, are comprised under this relative sons; for that is the nature of relatives, to comprise both under one, as under this title men, indefinitely used, women also are comprised, and under brethren sisters also. WILLIAM GOUGE (1578-1653) Commentary on the Whole Epistle to the Hebrews "That these duties may be performed according to the extent of the persons whom they concern, we must take notice that as all sorts and conditions of men, great and mean, rich and poor, young and old, so also both sexes, male and female, are comprised under this relative sons; for that is the nature of relatives, to comprise both under one, as under this title men, indefinitely used, women also are comprised, and under brethren sisters also. To manifest this, the other relative daughters are oft expressed, as, 'Ye shall be my sons and daughters,' 2 Cor. vi. 18."

He finds this a sin and a shame. Today we’ve tidied this up considerably: one may join a party that deplores poor scratchers, or one that deplores rich grabbers, and in either case feel entirely absolved. Luther, characteristically, was not offering that option.

For one can now well see what a scraping, grabbing and scratching there is even among those who want to be Christians, from the lowest to the highest stage of society. It is a sin and a shame to hear it.”

The culture war has since divided this insight neatly in two — one side keeps the neighbor, loses the God; the other keeps the condemnation, loses the neighbor. Angus, inconveniently, insists on both.
