I had an unexpected chance to hear Sen. #LindseyGraham speak years ago (a picture I took, below). In the face of the ugliness of death, I don't want to post a partisan comment, but simply appreciate the service of a fellow image bearer, who served my country both in and out of uniform and did some things one would hope sit outside our divisions. His views were complex enough in our simple partisan age that I suspect most of us agreed with him on some things and disagreed on others -- that's how it is supposed to be. It isn't often you can read remarkably warm reflections upon the passing of a politician from people as far apart as Sen. #AmyKlobuchar and President #DonaldTrump, but with Graham you can today, because he seemed to actually want to work with people for the causes he believed in (and while he quietly and in a non-showy way cared for his family, at least from when he adopted his sister at age 19 after their parents died). And, I know I always appreciated the consistency with which he stood up against some of the great evils of our age in foreign policy, a rare consistent voice for freedom and democracy, against those attacking #Ukraine, #Israel and beyond.

People sometimes ask me to stick to teaching Hebrew and leave the “political content” out of it.

Here is my answer. **I cannot**

Because antisemitism is not politics to me. It is the comment my husband deletes before I wake up. It is **“go home murderer”** sent to a language teacher. It is not a debate topic. It is my daily reality, simply for being Jewish and visible.

So I had a choice. Stay quiet, absorb the hate, and just do business. Or use my voice to share truth and light. Being Jewish, that was never really a choice at all.

I am a businesswoman and I am a Jewish woman. The world does not let me separate the two so I stopped trying. History has already shown us more than once what happens when good people go quiet.

I will keep teaching Hebrew. I will keep celebrating Israel. I will keep standing up and nothing about that is negotiable.

Israeli analyst Danny Citrinowicz described the agreement as a strategic "catastrophe". What had been framed as a joint #US – #Israel campaign to weaken, or even topple ⁠the Islamic Republic has, in his view, flipped into US recognition of #Iran.

"We went to topple the regime with US backing & ended with Washington effectively giving legitimacy & strengthening the same regime we wanted to bring ​down," said Citrinowicz, a snr Iran researcher at Israel's Institute for #NationalSecurity Studies.

“The United States has capitulated to Iran. There is a “deal,” which has been signed, on terms that can only be described as those of complete Iranian victory.“

There has to be a presumption that everyone who has served in the #Israeli military over the last three years has been involved in the #GazaGenocide . The #GenocideConvention REQUIRES all signatories to prosecute and to punish those who take part in #Genocide

When ordinary #Israelis believe that, if they serve in the military, they can never leave #Israel, the oppression of #Palestine ends.

#ForrestKendallPemberton, 27, of #Gainesville, is charged with an attempted #hatecrime, using and carrying a #firearm during a crime of violence, and possession of a short-barreled #rifle.

Federal prosecutors said that on Dec. 23, 2024, #Pemberton attempted to carry out a shooting at an office belonging to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (#AIPAC), a group that lobbies the U.S. government in support of Israel, in the South Florida city of #Plantation.

He was reportedly armed with an #AR15-style rifle equipped with a silencer. The Palm Beach Post previously reported that AIPAC was the targeted group. Court documents didn’t specify the nonprofit."

NEW | 1,000 Palestinians Killed After Gaza ‘Ceasefire’ as Israel Deepens Occupation and Humanitarian Catastrophe

More than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since the US-brokered ceasefire was announced in October, exposing the gap between promises of calm and the reality on the ground. Israeli attacks continued across the besieged strip, claiming at least 1,005 Palestinian lives.

Israel has also expanded its occupation in Gaza to 64% of the Strip, while displacement, destruction, and forced evacuations persist. The anticipated second phase of the agreement, which was supposed to include an Israeli withdrawal, has yet to materialize.

The humanitarian crisis continues to worsen. Gaza’s healthcare system remains on the brink of collapse, with only 20 of 37 hospitals partially functioning and no fully operational hospital remaining. Aid access remains severely restricted, reconstruction has not begun, and nearly 1.9 million Palestinians remain displaced.

Since the start of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, more than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed, while vast areas of the Strip have been reduced to rubble.
