Is it sufficient to hashtag posts involving or mentioning alcohol, or is a CW necessary? (recovering alcoholics have mentioned to me it's helpful to flag these, hoping the hashtag is enough). I know with Mastodon you can set up many keywords and never see any posts mentioning alcohol, and would like to respect folks efforts there without making the posts impossible to see.
The smell absolutely smells of strawberry guava, which is quite remarkable... Very tropical/fruity note. #wine

Cyclist falls down 130-foot ravine in France, survives 3 days by drinking wine he had in shopping bag
Updated on: October 31, 2025 / 6:45 AM EDT / CBS/AFP
A French cyclist survived for three days after a horrendous 130-foot fall into a ravine, kept alive by the bottles of red wine he had in his shopping bag, police said.

@nixCraft you can also use #wine to run the few #microsoft #windows applications that have no alternatives, such as #heidisql 👍
So, unless I'm doing something wrong (which, please, please, please God, tell me) it seems if you want to get a really good press of liquid out of your grapes (or whathaveyou). You really shouldn't fill up your press to the tippy top. In fact, it seems the emptier it is, the drier the leftovers once you're done pressing.
So I've basically been squeezing ~1 gallonish of stuff.
Which, ok fine.
But my question is: WHY THE HECK ARE THE BASKETS SO TALL THEN?
@krutonium @OS1337 yeah....
Guess why @fuchsiii has a 7950X at her disposal: To compile #wine faster...
@wyatt I still have 3 gripes with what #Microsoft calls #WSL:
1. It's not a "#Windows Subsystem for #Linux", but a "Linux Subsystem for Windows". The real #WindowsSubsystemForLinux is called #Wine, as it provides #Win32 & #Win64 calls on Linux!
2. The "#Unix Subsystem for Windows" aka. "Unix Services for Windows" were to a degree better.
3. "WSL" is less of a compatibility layer and more of a #HyperV - #VM, which also results in issues with #VMware / #VMwareWorkstation and #VirtualBox.
Scrivener 3.1.6 has been released for #Windows. The update appears to also work when running under Wine.
Picked some grapes to make wine. 75-80 lbs, or about 35 kg. They are mostly the pink 'Delaware' grapes but there are a few Moore's Early and similar or just Concord from a wild seedling. If the strong grape taste of a Concord is 'foxy' then the pink grapes are not foxy.. in case any wine connoisseurs are cringing. ;) There's more to pick and I'd like to fill up 2 or 3 buckets after removing stems.
