I can actually run full-fat firefox on my 4GB RAM Core 2 Duo, but some websites are much less than pleasant. ;)

The #smolweb / #indieweb is fine on it, though.

I was listening to an old episode of the #TuxJam podcast where they're talking about a distro called 4M Linux, and it made me think back to the hypothetical "3M" computers of the 1980s:

• 1 MB RAM
• 1 MIPS
• 1 Megapixel Display

That would be a fun hypothetical virtual machine to create and write an OS for.

It's what the #NeXT tried very hard to be, and I think succeeded at.

Seems like a neat way for independent #smolweb blogs to talk to each other without ridiculous overwrought social media crud.

That and human.json seem like neat technologies worth investigating.

'cURL' should be useful since it support gopher, although you will have to custom script it.

'Lynx' browser also handles gopher quite nicely and you should be able to use the -dump feature and parse what you want.

Kristall is a graphical browser with gopher support.
