Guys, MAJOR update for PH4NTXM...
I've been working long for this one, using all the technical knowledge can be found offline/online, with specialized tools, automations and more.

PH4NTXM now is on v2.0.0

A lot of things changed, from UI, to fail-closed mechanisms, and strict boot verification pilot.

Philosophy remained as always THE SAME.

It's a big step, cause we filled so many gaps, and automated things to be adaptive, like the purpose of the Operating System.

Go try it, build it, break it, repeat.

Thank you, as usual, PH4NTXM.

The industry is simultaneously everywhere and incredibly difficult to investigate. Ads can power all sorts of surveillance, from the relatively mundane like inferring someone’s age or gender, right up to harvesting their precise location data and selling this to the government. But researching that omnipresent is, ironically, an uphill struggle because the relevant data is spread across the web, nestled in obscure files that most people never look at or even know to look for, and can’t be searched all at once.

A new tool called hopes to change that by bringing together a massive corpus of data. It can show what advertising brokers are operating on a particular website, and, more importantly, many other places those same brokers are operating.

📄 I have published my summary of the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF) activities at in Vienna.

The report covers the Applied Networking Research Workshop (ANRW), the IRTF Open Meeting, and all 14 Research Groups—from AI networking and Internet architecture to routing, transport, privacy, sustainability, quantum networking, and more.

One aspect that makes the IRTF particularly valuable is its research model. Rather than organizing around individual publications, the IRTF is organized around long-lived research communities where researchers, engineers, implementers, operators, and standards experts collaboratively explore fundamental Internet challenges over many years.

At a time when AI is transforming how research is written, reviewed, and disseminated, sustained technical dialogue and open collaboration are becoming increasingly important.

About 15 years ago I developed, with some excellent undergrad research assistants, a method of (we hoped) assessing sexual aggressiveness potential in straight men for future research studies. This isn't super special; there are many of these. I study sexual aggression (mostly).

Well, we needed a method of knowing how good the assessment system was. Our response: if we make a randomly-selected group of participants horny, they should have higher scores on our assessment compared to the non-horny group. Thus, I spent many nights hunting the web for public-domain or CC images of hot ladies in skimpy bathing suits. I found 20 or so photos, vetted by half a dozen undergrad men who agreed they were arousing.

Of course it's much more convincing if you have a control condition that is similar to the experimental condition in every way except the factor you're manipulating (i.e., horniness). Thus I spent many other nights hunting for public domain or CC-licensed photos of interesting architecture. Buildings. The experimental group would spend a few minutes looking at attractive women (and we hoped getting sexually aroused, at least a little), and the control group would do the same thing, but with interesting buildings.

We ran the study. We found fuck all for this manipulation check: there was no statistically significant difference in our sexual aggressiveness measure between the men who looked at boobs and those who looked at buildings.

I really should publish this someday.

i was feeling dejected about the lack of results one evening. My wife at the time heard my story and said,
