If #SFC wins in the #Vizio case and Vizio complies with the #GPL & #LGPL, we should have the bare components ready to build an alternative firmware that can run something like Kodi instead on their TVs (aka their computers with a giant display attached).

I wonder if LG's are still #Linux -based? I did an enforcement action about 15 years ago and they were back then, and were in compliance, so you could rebuild & install the base operating system.

& now there's YA reason: last week, #GitHub urged the FOSS community to *oppose* important #California legislation that places transparency and consumer rights requirements on deployment of LLM-gen-AI!

GitHub's tactic? Disinformation claiming #FOSS licenses are incompatible with Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §22757 and California #SB1000 (which seeks to amend §22757).

It's not a *NIX!

Problem: the GPL is poison. It has polluted Linux and the Linux userland software so that only large corporations can afford to monetize it. BSD License or MIT License would be much better allowing small players to produce unique work without then being forced to share their source code with the AI hegemony racket.
