#OTD 5 November 1758, Eric Ericsson was born in the parish of Grebo, Östergötland, Sweden. His death was noted in the church records 41 months later. But he lived to find work, marry and become the guardian of his brother's four children. His death was noted again at the age of 70 years. Solving the puzzle of two deaths was an exercise in digging deep. Eric was the brother of my 4th-great-grandfather and guardian of my 3rd-great-grandmother.

AFAIK the Mormon church has the most extensive collection of open genealogy records in the whole world. Genealogy is a BIG part of their religion so they archive every scrap of genealogical data that comes their way.
