All is right in the world again. Well, living room, anyway.

While I was replacing the remaining tuning heads, another one broke off (!) so I'm really glad I didn't just buy one.

I also managed to squeeze the bottle too hard and the top came off and shot fretboard oil everywhere. So that ain't great. But it's a small thing.

I've not had new strings since I got this in '21. You forget the zing.

ummmmm… this is just how coffee has always been roasted before machines. my greatgrandma and nana used to roast coffee in their backyards. nana specifically had a little slab of cement poured in what she gauged as the hottest spot in the garden. she always said science starts in the kitchen.

i get there’s capture and storage tech that makes this innovative. just wanted to point out that old school drying of the fruit and roasting of the #coffee beans has always been #solar #solarpunk.

First comment: I don't know why coffee juice is not available in the United States. Fresh coffee beans are absolutely delicious. (very much ripe grape-ish character... EXTREMELY SWEET). That said... Eating the flesh of only a small number of these is like a strong espresso. (!!). i.e. you would not want to drink a whole cup of coffee juice, you'd probably overdose on caffeine.

I will suck the juices off 2-3 beans at most at a time, to avoid the jitters later, lol. Unfortunately, don't think you can really save this very easily. (maybe squeeze into a filter and freeze? dunno. Dilute with water and turn it into caffeinated ice cubes?)

Container I am using is way too large, but better too big than too small. I am using SafAle S33 for the yeast. This is not what they use in the coffee industry (they will let natural yeasts work on it or specially bred coffee mucilage digesting yeast). It is what I have open from my last brewing batch of beer. #coffee

Yeasts activated and it's now fermenting and converting the mucilage and sugars into alcohol (high percentage methanol, so don't drink it!). I have ordered the same Nespresso pods for years and this morning I noticed something I had never seen before. Hebrew, right there on the side of the box. ☕🇮🇱

I looked it up and this batch was made for a handful of markets, Argentina, Mexico, the USA, and Israel, so the Hebrew was printed alongside the other languages.

And it landed with me in the best way. Coffee already feels like a little hug to me. Seeing my language on the box in my kitchen here in America, felt like that same hug all over again. A small reminder of home showing up where I least expected it.

That is what language does. It finds you and it says you are still home, wherever you are.
