I hadn't seen the movie since I was a tyke.

I watched it again and I was mesmerized.

Vintage movies and musicals are much better than any of the modern cinematic brain rot.

Don Paterson Rain I love all films that start with rain: rain, braiding a windowpane or darkening a hung-out dress or streaming down her upturned face; one big thundering downpour right through the empty script and score before the act, before the blame, before the lens pulls through the frame to where the woman sits alone beside a silent telephone or the dress lies ruined on the grass or the girl walks off the overpass, and all things flow out from that source along their fatal watercourse. However bad or overlong such a film can do no wrong, so when his native twang shows through or when the boom dips into view or when her speech starts to betray its adaptation from a play, I think to when we opened cold on a starlit gutter, running gold with the neon of a drugstore sign and I’d read into its blazing line: forget the ink, the milk, the blood – all was washed clean with the flood we rose up from the falling waters the fallen rain’s own sons and daughters and none of this, none of this matters.

Around this time in 1897, Thomas Edison was likely celebrating receiving a patent for the Kinetograph, his early motion picture camera. The first films ever copyrighted were made with it, including this one from 1894, which the Library has preserved. It's colloquially known as "Fred Ott's Sneeze."

Tralasciando l'interpretazione davvero ottima di Kristen Stewart posso dire che non mi ha entusiasmato il film?
A tratti è molto intrigante ma spesso un po' noioso e mi sembra anche che racchiuda diversi cliché presi un po' dall'horror, un po' dal thriller, con una spruzzatina di giallo e poliziesco, passando per il drammatico con elementi di psicologia da rivista senza però seguire un filo convincente. Almeno a mio parere.
Non è un brutto film, anzi gli darei una possibilità fossi in voi ma alla fine sono rimasto perplesso e la prima domanda che mi è passata per la testa è stata... Quindi? Che significa ciò che ho visto? Anche oggi, ripensandoci con calma, non saprei dare una risposta sinceramente!

Only a fool would deny that... I'm getting tired of all this anti-AI bullshit. It's just a very efficient automation tool with specific affordances that can be well used or badly used. OK, there are still some hiccups in terms of efficiency but this is mostly an engineering problem together with an illiteracy problem from the part of some users.

"The Star Wars director, George Lucas, has added his voice to the growing chorus of film-makers receptive to the rising use of AI tools in moviemaking.

Speaking in an interview with A Rabbit’s Foot, Lucas, 82, said: “Artificial intelligence means it’s much easier for us to make movies.”

Resistance to the technology, he said, was “very much like sitting here saying: ‘Well, I believe the horse and the buggy is really where it’s at. These cars, they break down, they need gas, there’s all kinds of problems with them and pretty soon they’ll be making them into tanks, and then they’ll be killing people. It’s terrible.’”

Adoption of such tools, continued Lucas, was an inevitability. “There’s nothing you can do about it. That’s progress, it’s the future.”

Lucas is not the only director of a Star Wars film to have come out in favour of AI. The British film-maker Gareth Edwards, who made Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and most recently Jurassic World Rebirth said generative AI “is a fucking genius at helping you”."
