TikTok’s new age-detection tech seems like a better solution than automatically banning youth accounts. But experts say it still requires social platforms to surveil users more closely.

Microsoft Gave FBI Keys To Unlock Encrypted Data, Exposing Major Privacy Flaw

The tech giant said it receives around 20 requests for BitLocker keys a year and will provide them to governments in response to valid court orders. But companies like Apple and Meta set up their systems so such a privacy violation isn’t possible.

With the dance group I organize, we finally reached 150 people on Signal.
We even got a popup on the fact that sending message might become slower (because of real e2ee).

Anyway, that is 150 more people that have a better privacy option.

Don't listen to people telling you that nobody will join if you use Signal instead of WhatsApp or Telegram. They will, if they really care of what you want to create. And if they don't, maybe it's OK to not have a ghost town anyway full of people joining but not participating.

"... fraudsters *could* now be attempting to contact its customers..."

"... people *might* now be sending spam or phishing emails that impersonate the company..."

"... secondary actors *may* impersonate MMH..."

More worrying is MMH saying it's "notified *most* of the people affected by the data breach" when it's been over three weeks since the hack was announced.
