How to Upgrade GnuPG to Generate Kyber and Goldilocks Keys

I see some people still using ancient PGP keys. GnuPG offers Linux repositories for updating to the latest versions of GnuPG with new expert features for key generation. Recent versions support both Kyber1024 and Goldilocks448 keys (and more).

I just made a of my discord bot, the dev version. basically, what I did is encrypted the main folder with all the keys an essentials to run it (the folder it was in) which is called gemini-discord-bot as a veracrypt container, put a password and PIM, uploaded it to Google drive.. normally i'd just upload some shit to Google drive directly, but given it has sensitive credentials (such as tokens, aAPI keys, etc) and I don't want those leaked if something shitty happens to Google, I used .

"By now, we’ve all heard the familiar refrain: “It’s for your safety.” It’s the soothing mantra of every government official who’s ever wanted a peek behind your digital curtains.

This week, with a move that would make East Germany blush, the UK government officially confirmed its intention to hand Ofcom (yes, that Ofcom, the regulator that once investigated whether Love Island was too spicy) the keys to your private messages.

The country, already experiencing rapidly declining civil liberties, is now planning to scan encrypted chats for “bad stuff.”

Now, for those unfamiliar, Ofcom is the UK’s communications regulator that has recently been given censorship pressure powers for online speech.

It’s become the government’s Swiss Army knife for everything from internet censorship to now, apparently, full-blown surveillance.

Under the Online Safety Act, Ofcom has been handed something called Section 121, which sounds like a tax loophole but is actually a legal crowbar for prying open encrypted messages."

Hidden within the UK Online Safety Act is the spy clause that threatens encryption on messaging apps.

As ORG's James Baker says, Ofcom "may be waiting to see what happens in Europe with the Chat Control proposal, because it’s quite hard for the UK to go alone.”

                                          Global Encryption Day! 🔒🎉

Despite some governments pushing hard to weaken it, we must remind them that we all need encryption, and especially end-to-end encryption, to stay safe online 💚

Hexlish Alphabet for English, Constructed Languages and Cryptography: Automatic, Structural Compression with a Phonetic Hexadecimal Alphabet

                                                DOI : https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.13139469

Hexlish is a legible, sixteen-letter alphabet for writing the English language and for encoding text as legible base 16 or compressed binary. Texts composed using the alphabet are automatically compressed by exactly fifty percent when converted from Hexlish characters into binary characters. Although technically lossy, this syntactic compression enables recovery of the correct English letters via syntactic reconstruction. The implementer can predict the size of the compressed binary file and the size of the text that will result from decompression. Generally it is intuitive to recognize English alphabet analogues to Hexlish words. This makes Hexlish a legible alternative to the standard hexadecimal alphabet.
