Mega Man Maker 1.10 Released (a while ago)
I'm a bit late in announcing this, but a lot's been going on here lately, and it's a worthy announcement, so here's the release video for Mega Man Maker 1.10 (2 minutes). This isn't the last time we linked to a MMM release, and its coders don't seem to be slowing down any time soon.

Video embeds not working / needs only latest browsers?... Retro version to switch into would be good or link to it's page instead of "sorry..." [SENSITIVE CONTENT]

    @fediforum @dansup Embed Videos don't show

I think videos should be "compatible" with all browsers or as simply as possible.

    Tried with :

Ah it's embed... Well anyway... Guess I can load in separate page... but doesn't look great...

A compatible version to switch into perhaps or link to the video page instead of "sorry..." ?

Kim Justice on I’m Sorry, Sega’s Political Arcade Game
It's a really strange game even without the context that your protagonist, a fan-waving Japanese guy running around from sunglasses-wearing agents, and occasionally celebrities like Michael Jackson (probably his first role in a Sega game) and a barrel chasing him around mazes, is based on a real person,

Creator of C64OS Talks VIC-II Video Timing
It's a pretty good run-down of the various weird timing issues of the Commodore 64. Machines at that time had to do all kinds of weird things to keep up the overriding priority of microcomputers of the time: building a consistent video signal that could be displayed on a television. Nearly all machines needed special hardware

I think it's pretty obvious that, while the game is excellent in many ways, Super Mario World has so many extra lives that they end up almost meaningless. There's all the traditional ways to build up your horde of Marios waiting in the wings for their chance at platforming glory: getting 100 coins, hidden 1up blocks, kno

It is true, but you do need some extra items. Not only the Gameboy Advance, but a Gamecube, a GBA controller cable, the Gamecube controller adaptor (the one made to support Smash Bros. games) and a Gameboy Player with boot disk. Last play was almost 2 decades when there was a small party of friends with people around as a bit of a revisit to the game (also to try get crowd-intelligence how to complete things) but we couldn't get to the end of that sword fight! But fun all the way.

Nothing much since then other than seeing it on hard disk a few times and maybe some art... since the youth has passed now. I guess time-killing was a past-time which many people did and do but this was actually the more lively, bright, creative humoured adventure games.

NEWSCARD: Decentralized, Encrypted Paste Bin via Usenet Newsgroups

NEWSCARD Publish and fetch permanent named records via Network News

Newscard creates a decentralized, encrypted, named record paste bin.

[git repo] https://codeberg.org/OCTADE/newscard (use most recent version only)

With a single command, name the card, snarf the file and encrypt it.

With another command, push the encrypted file to the public network.

With another short command, snarf a file from the network.

Only users knowing the name [key] of the record will be able to decrypt it.

If a strong passphrase is used to name the file, it will be very secure.

This is useful for quickly snarfing, encrypting, and publishing a text file:

                                        $~: card enc [passphrase] [file]
                                        $~: card put [passphrase]

It is useful for retrieving a text file with just a key:

                                        $~: card get [passphrase]
                                        $~: card show [passphrase]

If and when you want the general public to access the record just share the keyword.

Newscard uses nine (9) (NINE) layers of encryption with OpenSSL chacha20 cipher.

Newscard generates 9 each of: cipher keys, salts, key iteration parameters.

It would be nice if something like this were added to the ActivityPub protocol, such that keyword[@]host.url would do the same thing. Then secret text records could be stored securely for later retrieval or revelation.
