The track Tishomingo Blues is inspired by an Elmore Leonard novel of the same title, published in 2002. It’s set in Mississippi and focuses on the local Dixie Mafia, and a high-stakes Civil War re-enactment. A professional high-diver, Dennis Lenahan, witnesses a murder on the ground while preparing to take an 80ft plunge. It was Leonard’s favourite among his own work.
