fascinating economic discovery from Fidelity: houses actually are cheaper now than in 2020!*

next up from Fidelity: groceries aren't getting more expensive!**

The average U.S. home has appreciated by over $100,000 since 2020, reflecting the broader inflationary environment across fiat-denominated assets. However, when priced in bitcoin, the average home has declined significantly in value, becoming approximately 10 times less expensive over the same period. This divergence raises a key question: Is housing becoming more expensive, or is the purchasing power of fiat currency steadily eroding?

The odds were always in his favor. Trump profited whether the price went up or down. He collected returns whenever anyone traded the tokens, as he repeatedly pushed his followers to do, using Truth Social [& the presidency] to promote it.

The disclosure gives little insight into where the money is coming FROM. That some of Trump’s income comes from figures like Justin Sun or the United Arab Emirates (who later reaped benefits) is not disclosed in the filing, but known only thanks to outside reporting or self-disclosure by investors.

And Trump’s sons, who are heavily involved in the crypto sector and run some of Trump’s businesses, are not required to file disclosures. This is because they have no formal position in the White House, despite regularly meeting with high-level officials to discuss business and policy.
