quite some other projects try to solve "offline communications" by using Bluetooth but I think this is very unpractical for anything that is not looking like an IRC or SMS app

but if people setup local interconnected wifi hotspots and build a mesh network in the cities/towns then you can have a something much more interesting while not draining everyone's battery

enabling people to do things like this and becoming truly resilient and autonomous

things like this you can never do with centralized messengers like , , , etc. if you really care about digital independence, centralized alternatives are just NOT an option at all

I'm really enjoying working with @logseq as a note taking and knowledge management tool.

Unfortunately I've created distinct graphs for different projects I'm involved in at work. But it seems quite heavy lifting to merge them together into one to allow for better cross-likability and task management across my 'work life'.

The new 'DB' version takes a bit of getting used to for me, but I can see the benefits over the previous 'OG' (markdown files) version.

If you haven't used it, yet, but are into stuff like , give it a shot. It's open source and fully cross-platform. has a very low overhead of friction when working with it. Everything is a node, and it can all be linked with ease.

uBlock Origin is stepping back from the ongoing fight against Facebook's ad-detection tactics.

The project isn't removing its existing Facebook filters, but its small volunteer team says it will no longer keep updating them every time Facebook changes its code to bypass them.

Existing filters may continue working, but future Facebook changes could allow ads through.

then after applying updates it takes ages "optimizing apps" see this screenshot, only 8 optimized apps out of 35 and it has taken 19 minutes already and in the meantime the phone is very slow and overheated :(
