      Just woke up from a very interesting dream focused on my FTD. I was taken to a live-in center being told that the experience would help with my condition. After a day of personal desk based tests I was placed with a group of my peers. We had to go through an "assault course" of tests and puzzles where we had to work together to pass.
      A light lunch was given to us, and at the end of each day we were taken out to eat in fellowship.
      Looking forward to church today, not just for the fellowship but also because the elders are meeting with me to pray over and annoint me with oil. This is also due to my FTD.

                              Are you SURE you want “the first century church”?

                              It is always surprising to me when I hear people say “I long for the first century church…” They met in homes, broke bread together and praised the Lord with one voice. (Acts 4:32). They think that the first church was purer, better…somehow more holy.

                              It’s human nature, I suppose, to look back and through sepia colored memories suppose it was all better then. For my own self, I do look back fifty years at the 1960s and 70s and enjoy that I got to roam all over town safely, play outside till the street lights came on, attended school events and football games without passing through a bag check or metal detector. So, I understand.

                              Our memories do tend to gloss over the less palatable things and see the past with rose colored glasses. It’s that way with viewing the church in the first century.

                              Yes, the Roman Christians were allowed to worship without government interference (for a while). Yes, some of them at Jerusalem personally had experiences unparalleled in future church history such as Pentecost, or seeing Jesus’ or the Apostles’ miracles. But we need to be careful what we wish for. Yes, the Lord’s presence was more palpable. But…

                              We read this in Acts 5:4b-6

                              “Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God.” And as he heard these words, Ananias collapsed and died; and great fear came over all who heard about it. The young men got up and covered him up, and after carrying him out, they buried him.

                              As is our normal tendency to remember only the ‘good’ like the miracles, we forget the ‘bad’ such as Ananias who was killed outright IN the church gathering in front of witnesses! Sapphira was also killed outright. Slain dead right there!

                              In 1 Timothy 1:6, we read, “Some people have strayed from these things and have turned aside to fruitless discussion, wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions.“

                              Wow. The ‘things’ they have turned away from are love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith, verse 5. ALready they were turning away?! Worse, they seemed like experts because they speak confidently, but knew nothing. Pretenders like this are such a danger to the church and to individual Christians! They existed in the 1st century church.

                              1 Corinthians 3:1-4 observes that there were factions, jealousy, strife, immaturity, and carnality. That is a lot of wrong in just 4 verses!

                              In 3 John 1:9-10 we learn that there are enormous problems caused by one man, Diotrephes. John is coming for him to charge him to his face of being prideful, rebellious toward elders, uttering malicious slander, wrongful excommunications, and refusals to meet with people.

                              The first century church had its ups but it had its down, too. Just like our churches do today. It’s because the church is made up of sinners. Some forgiven and genuinely converted, others unknowingly not converted, and still others, spies and enemies. What a mix.

                              The 1930s comedian Groucho Marx famously said upon the occasion of his resignation from the Friar’s Club, “I wouldn’t join any club that has me as a member”. The line was reflective of his desire to bow out gracefully without hurting the other members’ feelings, but was interesting too. Our prideful human nature wants exclusivity. We want to be highly thought of in others’ eyes. Normally, people want to join clubs that are highly selective, which is the point of a club. Marx’s comment implies that any group that accepts him is intrinsically flawed.

                              Like a church! No a church is not a club, it’s the opposite! How? A church accepts ONLY people who are intrinsically flawed. Our depraved nature makes it so. We are forgiven by Christ after we repent, but our sinful nature still exists. It did in the 1st century church and it does today. We all stumble into church as amazed sinners, forgiven of our sins and hopeful of future release from this burden of our flesh.

                              Now it’s true that some churches are better than others. The Corinthian church struggled, the Thessalonica church did not struggle as much. The church at Antioch was considered an exceptional church. The church at Laodicea made Jesus want to vomit. If someone says ‘I wish I was in a first century church’ ask them if they want to be vomited out in Laodicea.

                              All churches are composed of humans; sinful, struggling humans on a sanctification path to glory, eventually.

                              The famous saying: “The church is a hospital for sinners, not a museum of saints” has been kicking around forever, begun in part by 4th century church father St. John Chrysostom, finalized and popularized by the 20th century newspaper advice columnist Dear Abby, but either way, it’s true. Hospitals are full of sick people, each with their own disease or ailment. All with the desire for and on a path to wellness.

                              Our desire in church similarly, to stick with the hospital metaphor, is to grow healthier souls and to pursue holiness.

                              Parts of the first century church are to be emulated, other parts are a cautionary tale. Don’t let sepia colored memories or rose colored glasses tint our understanding of what the church is and who we are as forgiven sinners. They had their issues, and we do too. We also have praises. Any ‘issues’ are due to us and all the praises go to Jesus, the Head of His church, both in the First century and now.

                                                                                            In order to enter the kingdom of God you must repent of worshiping the trinity. God the Father is not a trinity. Only the Father is God. The Christian doctrine of the trinity is the idol the prophets warned us about.

                                                                                            The Unitarian faith is the faith of the Apostles and the only true God. The Trinitarian faith is a false faith in a false, Greek, metaphyical construct.

                                                                                            The Bible is NOT a book of metaphysics. It uses spiritual examples and parables to describe concrete things. The Greco-Roman 'church fathers' poisoned the well by applying pagan metaphysics to the Bible, creating the cargo cult known as the Nicene Creed and the Athanasian Creed.

                                                                                            God the Father is a spirit. He is not a man. He did not incarnate as a man. He raised up and sent a man to be our sacrifice for sin. Everything the trinitarians teach twists the Bible into a lie.

                                                                                                                Christian Nationalists claim to advance 'dominion' or 'taking dominion'. This is blasphemy. The dominion over the nations was given to Jesus, not to imperfect men. Jesus is the one who is given dominion over all the nations. Thus Christian Nationalism blasphemously posits itself as the messiah with the dominion, just like its Catholic parent church.

                                                                                                                  The Roman "Mary" is Isis of the Egyptian trinity. The Roman "Mary" is NOT the Miriam who gave birth to Jesus of Nazareth. The Roman "Mary" is also known as Astarte, Easter, and in Babylon as Semiramis. The Roman Church pasted a "Mary" nametag on its pagan idol, then by the sword of Constantine and Justinian forced all Christians to worship this idol.

                                                                                                                  Anyone who can actually read the Bible can see that the 'immaculate conception' of a 'sinless mother of god' is nowhere taught in the Bible. But it was taught in Babylon, Greece, Egypt, and Rome. The trinity is a pagan idol having nothing to do with the God of the Bible. Trinity worship is the chiefest of things the true God of Abraham despises. The trinity is a hoodwink to trick Christians into worshiping the old serpent and insulting the divine Creator.

                                                                                                                  The Bible is clear on who God is:

                                                                                                                  "Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is one [echad:singular] Lord alone!"

                                                                                                                  This is the first great commandment of the Law of Moses. Upon this one commandment hang all the Law and the Prophets.

                                                                                                                  Then in the Decalogue given at Sinai a similar command is given:

                                                                                                                  "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."

                                                                                                                  In the Hebrew of this phrase, the word BEFORE is means REPRESENTING. Thou shalt have no other gods REPRESENTING me. Notice he says GODS in the plural, as Israel just came out of Egypt where there was a trinity of gods.

                                                                                                                  The next commandment is a further condemnation of the trinity:

                                                                                                                  "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:"

                                                                                                                  In the religion of the trinity, the father reigns over heaven, the mother/son/daughter/hermaphrodite reigns over the earth, and sometimes the third person of the trinity reigns over the waters. We see this with the Sumerian Anu, Enlil, and Ea, who are copied by the Romans in varying forms, for example as Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva. In this one command the God of Moses is rejecting this form ot trinitarian worship, saying he alone is God, and he is jealous against all idolatry of this trinity demon.

                                                                                                                  Why did the first commandment need to be about God being one or singular?

                                                                                                                  Because Israel just came out of Egypt where the god of Egypt was a trinity. So God founded the entire law of Moses on a complete rejection of the trinity. The first commandment that God gave to Israel was to HEAR that he is SINGULAR.

                                                                                                                  Jesus Christ also rejects the Catholic Trinity:

                                                                                                                  " And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."

                                                                                                                  Out of Jesus own mouth he says that only the Father is God. More over, he says that the Father is the "ONLY TRUE GOD" showing that Jesus knew there was a false god--the trinity of the Grecians and Romans that came from Egypt that came from Babylon.

                                                                                                                  The Christian religion is an organized insurrection against Jesus Christ while claiming to represent him. Jesus warned us that many would come in his name, and that they are all liars:

                                                                                                                  "All that ever came before [representing] me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. ..... But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep."

                                                                                                                  We have 30 thousand sects full of hirelings who teach you to worship their false trinity idol. Christ's sheep reject this idol and follow the true shepherd, who teaches that the Father alone is God. Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, is the only divine being that has ever existed. There is no other. There is no 'god the son' or 'god the holy spirit'. There is only and ever GOD THE FATHER in heaven.

                                                                                                                  Only Jehovah is God. Jehovah does not share his glory. He shares his life. He shares his wisdom. He shares his titles. He shares his power. He shares his authority. He shares his property which he created. But he does not share his GLORY, his right to be known as the only singular God and Creator. And he especially does not share his glory with idols such as the Roman trinity.

                                                                                                                  Everyone worshiping the trinity is an idolator, just as ancient Israel committed idolatry with the trinity of Babylon and Egypt.

                                                                                                                  Moses, the Prophets, the Apostles, and Jesus Christ of Nazareth rejected the trinity idol of the nations. All of these men gave glory to singular god whom they called, Father. So ask yourself why Christian preachers are teaching you to worship a trinity when the God of Abraham and Moses declares himself to be SINGULAR.

                                                                                                                  The answer is simple: The Christian religion is a centuries-long insurrection against the kingdom of God, masquerading itself as the kingdom of God. And this is what Genesis tells us about the kingdom of Nimrod.

                                                                                                                  The Father created Jesus Christ as the only valid image of deity that men can bow to. Humanity is always bowing to idols of their own making, both physical and mental idols. The Father in Heaven HATES this. He met mankind halfway since mankind is incapable of worshiping what he cannot see. So the Father made an image of himself in the man Jesus Christ, and commands us to bow to that man as God's face or representative. This in no way makes God a trinity nor does it make Jesus a person in a trinity. It makes Jesus a man, like any other man, who was chosen and formed to be the image of God. God solved the idolatry problem, yet to this day the Christian religion persists in denying God's mode of worship and substitutes their idolatry in place of what God commands.

                                                                                                                  Jesus is the Image of God. Jesus is the Son of God. Yet Jesus is neither God nor God the Son. That is a clever trick of Rome to fool people into worshiping their ancient trinity deity.

                                                                                                                      This political idolatry of 'Christian Nationalism' is not new. Only the wide perception of it is new due to everyone now being plugged into the Internet via their ever-present phones and tablets.

                                                                                                                      In the 1600s through the 1800s we see the political idolatry was at fever pitch and full swing, giving a host of politically-oriented cults, such as Witch-burning Puritanism, Swedenborgianism, Mormonism, Seventh-Day Adventism, etcetera. Even the Anglican church is an Imperialist political cult and has no warrant or sanction in the Holy Scriptures. It is a 'nationalist' tyranny over the mind. And then we see Islam, which Christians mistakenly believe to be a non-Christian religion. Islam is a Christian heresy, founded by heretical Catholics. Even the name, "Mohammed" is a corruption of the earlier Arabic, "Mahmed" meaning, "Messiah". Islam is an offshoot of medieval Christianity with its Saturn idolatry gone to seed. Islam is a daughter of Babylon, the Judeo-Roman prostitute.

                                                                                                                      Christianity has always been a politically idolatrous cult. For instance, The council of Nicea was convened by the Apollo-worshiping, Luciferian Emperor Constantine for nefarious and ungodly political purposes. Every bishop who was a political apparatchik showed up, ironing out a fascist version of Christianity that was forced on the empire by the sword for centuries.

                                                                                                                      The luciferians try to repeat this in every generation in which it looks like Christians will flee the Church plantation for the true body of Christ outside the Church.

                                                                                                                      Remember, the outer sea court of the temple was for the Gentiles (nations). The kingdom was removed from the inner court and given to them without. Christian authoritarians still have not recognized this.

                                                                                                                      If you want to advocate for a more biblical and faithful version of Christianity you need to leave behind the Imperial leadership model of the Church. The Apostles and the Reformers warned us about the man of sin sitting in the chair of the bishopric building his tower of Babel using the people (laity) as their bricks.

                                                                                                                      This thing commonly called, 'Christianity' is the backsliding idol worship of Israel in the Old Testament, brought to life in our current age. Jesus Christ is not a Christian. The Apostles of the Lamb are not Christians. Neither Jesus, nor the Apostles, nor the Prophets would recognize Christianity as legitimate. The sum of all their teachings mark Christianity as an impostor religion of idolatrous customs trading darkness for light.

                                                                                                                      There is no municipal kingdom of heaven. The kingdom of God cannot be brought about by the force of arms of mortal men. It comes by the Spirit of the Lord, not by the spirit of the world. Everyone pretending to build God's kingdom by inveigling, shaming, brow-beating, force, intimidation, fear-mongering, or authoritarianism, or civil government sanction, is an anti-christ, no matter how much they pretend to worship the Father and the Son and no matter how many zillions of times they claim their names.

                                                                                                                      In the Old Testament the Father prophesied to us the rise of the Christian world empire and its eventual destruction in the turning of the ages ahead. The Imperialist Christian cult likes to distract from its own wickedness by pretending Islam is the scapegoat, or by pretending Jews are the scapegoat. It might work for a time for their politics but God the Father is not fooled.

                                                                                                                      "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. ..... How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her."

                                                                                                                      The 'she' is the Christian Church. She is the harlot Babylon with her many Church babies, a true mother of political prostitutes and abominations of the earth. The Christian church glorifies herself and her system of bishopric authority instead of glorifying the simple gospel of Jesus Christ. Christianity is a machine for perpetuating its own system instead of setting the spiritual captives free.

                                                                                                                      We can truthfully say to the Christian Church what Christ said to the Scribes and Pharisees of ancient Judea:

                                                                                                                      "But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven."

                                                                                                                      In this age the first Adam who fell is the Church, the continuation of temple idolatry on life support. The second Adam who rises is Christ, or Jacob, who will supplant the first Adam as Jacob supplanted Esau in the birthright, as Jacob crossed his arms to swap the birthrights of Ephraim and Manasseh, as Isaac supplanted Ishmael, even as Paul the Apostle told us plainly. God has repeatedly told us how this Christian empire will be supplanted by Jesus Christ in the last days, yet Christians do not see what is plain in the scripture because they want political and spiritual power over other men, rather than being like Christ and humbly desiring to be a servant of servants for the love of God rather than recognition of position.

                                                                                                                      We learn from the Bible that God doesn't value man's concept of the birthright of authority, and freely supplants the older with the younger, even as he will supplant the older religious and Christian empire of the world with the younger Jesus of Nazareth.

                                                                                                                          Jacob didn't think he saw God's literal face. The text says he wrestled with the 'angel' of the Lord. An angel is a messenger or ambassador. To see the messenger is to see the face of the one the messenger represents.

                                                                                                                          To 'see the face' of an authority figure or ruler is a turn of phrase, or idiom. It is not necessarily literal. In the ancient near east, Orient, and Mesopotamia, 'the face' of a ruler meant his representative or authorized agent. If you see the king's ambassador, you are seeing the king's 'face'. Jesus even said,

                                                                                                                          "He that hath seen me hath seen the Father."

                                                                                                                          Jesus was not claiming to be the Father. He was claiming to be his 'face' or representative.

                                                                                                                          'Jacob' means 'supplanter'. He supplanted Esau in the birthright of the older brother, in the same way that Christ and the Apostles supplanted Judea with the new body of Christ. Paul the Apostle explains this:

                                                                                                                          "For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all."

                                                                                                                          The story of Jacob versus Esau and Isaac and Ishmael are prophecy of the struggle between fleshly Israel and Christ, who supplants the kingdom of Judea with the new body of Christ, the people of the new covenant. Thus Paul said:

                                                                                                                          "Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. [note: The Jews who persecuted the Nazarenes are Ishmael.] Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free."

                                                                                                                          Judea was cast out and supplanted by the new covenant believers. This is Jacob, or Israel, taking Esau's birthright, as prophesied in Genesis. The New Covenant people supplanted the Old Covenant people. This is Jacob supplanting Esau and becoming Israel. Paul directly identifies the ancient Judeans as the Hagar or Ishmael of the Old Testament, contiguous to the Esau of Genesis:

                                                                                                                          "For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children."

                                                                                                                          Thus the ancient Jews were not Israel:

                                                                                                                          "Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed."

                                                                                                                          In this same vein Paul elaborates that the Jews of his day are actually Esau rather than Jacob:

                                                                                                                          "It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated."

                                                                                                                          The flesh is Esau. The spirit is Israel. The spiritual are counted for the seed, while the flesh is counted for the elder who is rejected and supplanted by the younger Jacob / supplanter.

                                                                                                                          'Israel' means he that rules with God or as God, and means that Israel is God's new 'face'.

                                                                                                                          Jesus is the head of Israel. The believers are the body of Christ or Israel.

                                                                                                                          Anyone who sees a true Nazarene minister who knows and speaks the truth of Christ's gospel without lies or hypocrisy, is 'seeing the face of Christ.'

                                                                                                                            "Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:"
                                                                                                                            The Father gave the Law of Moses to snare everyone in sin, so everyone would be covered by the final sacrifice for sin. Without the Law making the world cognizant of sin, the sacrifice could not cover them. With the Law causing abundance of sin and making iniquity abound, then all are covered by the Lamb.

                                                                                                                            God is orders of magnitude beyond genius. But sadly Christians don't seem to think God can save on account of man's "omnipotent" free will thwarting God's plan.

                                                                                                                            The problem with the Christian religion is that their religious leaders think God needs their help to 'spread the gospel' and 'save souls'. In truth, God has been spreading the gospel in spite of the Christian religion perverting it for sixteen plus centuries.
