What happened to guppe groups?

I tried: https://a.gup.pe/u/opensource

And instead of the group page I got the page shown in the attached image.

    They didn't renew their domain name in time, and somebody else grabbed it.

      - An open letter calling for a cooling down of discourse and increased respect regarding debates between and about decentralisation
      - the a.gup.pe system, which added group support for microblogging, shuts down after the domain hijacked.

          @octade The domain got sold. There is another group service - the name escapes me. But I think @FediTips has shared an update regarding the change.

            The gup.pe domain was sold without the permission of the owner, there was apparently some weird little-known clause on .pe domains that allowed this to happen 😞 It now redirects to some random domain squatter.

            However, there is an alternative Fediverse groups service at about.fedigroups.social/home which you might want to try.

            If there isn't a group you want already, you can apply to set one up using the form on the website's front page.
