Fabulous #drone by one of my favourites, Kevin Drumm. While the main drone is rather disharmonic, the magic happens in the background. A haze of sine waves, phasing in and out, building chords, resonant peaks and sub-heavy valleys. The movement is subtle, but it always feels organically, naturally and at the same time purposefully. Pure bliss.

Created from #fieldrecordings of electrical equipment, I suppose, and mixed with synthesised sounds. Behind that cacophony one can make out a bird call or two. Nature is hiding.

There are two elements acting against and towards each other. Atonal and #dissonant #feedback loops and #drones that sound like coming from the darkest of caverns start the album. Over time, more „musical“ sounds appear, slowly establishing more presence, until in the last couple of songs they dominate the scene. With Sonja’s vocals added, the album builds towards some really beautiful #ambient.

The music on this, however, holds up big time. A grande #cinematic score for alien architecture. Very digital in nature and sounds coming from outside of this universe, held together by an incredible sense for scenic arrangements. Also, she programmed the used synths herself, I believe!
