@collective_truth Ever heard of ambient intimacy by any chance? That seems to be more fitting with what you've said RE: working with people, not just with computers.
If anything, that's one of the strongest selling points behind #Mastodon and #Fediverse. In a way, the way #Web20 was first envisioned by a group of pioneers over 2 decades ago, never mind the blogosphere from 30+s years ago.
I'd venture to state we've come a long way, although not done yet!

Not long ago, I purchased an eight pack of toilet rolls from the supermarket. They were 'on special'. To my surprise when I opened the pack, I found this dear little mini roll. My initial thought was, "No wonder it was on special"!
I couldn't help but think of it as a new product for baby.... it was rather cute!

Just saw that quote of a quote of a quote of a quote of a quote that eventually lead to 2 blog post nonsense on here, which is exactly what I came here to avoid. I don’t understand why people think that is a good user experience. At least when I quote I dive past all the quote of a quote of a quote of a quote nonsense to bring you the original toot or include all the blog post links. I don’t really understand why other users think this is a superior experience then just sharing links to the original blog entries themselves. If I quote anybody on hear, it is with the utmost intention, paying attention to where the trail of 99quotes leads, and what information is provided, and what information is left out. #FediMeta #Fediverse
