soc.octade.net is a Fediverse instance that uses the ActivityPub protocol. In other words, users at this host can communicate with people that use software like Mastodon, Pleroma, Friendica, etc. all around the world.

This server runs the snac software and there is no automatic sign-up process.

        We also recognize that there are legitimate campaigns. One relatively new effort is the Gaza Verified project. I (Quintessence) spoke to Aral to ask questions and generally understand the process, and am comfortable confirming that 1 ) Aral is a real person who is doing the work he states and 2 ) that the people that are being listed on Gaza Verified are confirmed with in-person verification with the network that he and Joy are building. To be overclear: the work is being done, and being done the way it is being communicated.

        In-person verification is slow work, as it requires each new contact to be verified by an existing contact. They also take the time to attempt to onboard people who mostly are unfamiliar with the technology we take for granted, and therefore both do not have prior exposure to cultural norms and also due to suffering, do not have a lot of mental bandwidth to ‘just learn it’.”

                Hi everyone, I just wanted to say thank you again for your amazing support for our fundraiser to fund @joynewacc’s private scholarship at the University of Milan and get her evacuated from Gaza in November.

                Thanks to you, we were able to raise over $15,000 in under 24 hours and meet our goal.

                Joy can’t thank you herself at the moment as her family has moved to a different shelter and she is currently without Internet. We have already sent her an eSIM and hope she will be online again as soon as possible.

                We’re keeping the campaign open until end of day today so if you haven’t had a chance to donate and want to, please do. The additional money we raise will go to covering any unexpected travel, lodging, or other expenses that might arise during her evacuation.

                                *This* more-human part or real is part of the REAL "protest" (I.E. other protests are real but THEY ARE *JUST PROTEST* as in 'asking' / begging constantly for them to change.

                                Protest in many senses we know is low change / 💯 % not going to happen (a lot of protest in history!) so by not moving what power / money (or things similar) out of their control / abuse) this is basically not clever protest

                                I don't think you got it as much as this above (with respect) so I'm adding this...

                                I'm saying yes to your list as partially good but not physically changing enough in core areas. (d it all but don't avoid the more core things and not just 'support' stuff which will be infinite unless your change the core).

                                The picture (newer version + others added) was trying to show we are born into all this / part of the system and showing you (the public) are part of it's thinking too if you are thinking you are not part of fascist structures (the whole and / / ).

                                *I do blame* victims AFTER they know this and continue. While all victims should have a chance and need time - some are WAY TOO COMFORTABLE and went into settling for it.

                                No longer victim here as bourgeois (LOTS of people here very comfortable)... *and they* play their part in I'm a victim by going to the same theater or opera / shops / institutes / city.

                                And they think all people online are doubtful - might as well did you're own grave that way.

                                When the crowd pays to go in and boo the actors and want to pay bad people for their goods (and then complain). Just playing into it too much.

                                So there's a measurable limit even to "victim" I'm sympathetic for (to a limit), but not settling comfortably into and not even in blaming-mode constantly helps (which is a lot of too).

                                They spend 100's of hours (go check all the hashtags - again it's measurable) - but nearly nothing on forging friends... all the Tech people work on machines, code and then blame for using it. Short examples like that (more of a long chain but you get the picture).

                                It's the or constancy in others encouraging / asking for / seeing and accepting others as imperfect (naturally) and not being so doubtful - as that scuppers any chances too.

                                Wwithout even testing people out people have resigned / accept fascism and even play their part.

                                Part of the answer we need to do is in testing and solving real communication - no more bashing .

                                          I used to hang out on Gab, where I mainly posted retro gaming content and avoided politics. Today I decided to pop in there to see how things were going.

                                          I'm instantly reminded of why I started this Mastodon instance in the first place. Gab's a mess, plastered with ads, sponsored posts, donation requests & broken image links. Worst yet, there's no way to escape politics.

                                          I'm genuinely perplexed as to why people still use that site :guilded_shrug:

                                                          People are almost the same everywhere... Have more money than sense etc... even the anti-people... Civilisation build on crap and people can't let go of it to build themselves and others.. so they support Fascism / Capitalism instead... [SENSITIVE CONTENT]

                                                          @inthehands Have to be honest that is good advice, but also you find people are almost same-same everywhere... they just like short writing... and fascist (uncaring / money-based) but in a different department (fascists is an offending but really people don't care much to change).

                                                          So what I mean for those that cn read, is that people are ignoring a lot of life, so they aren't fascist in one way or totally (even though believing in Government hierachy and banks IS FASCISM) but they ignore people and then they love tech (kind of not Musk but all roads lead...),

                                                          People are not fascist but believe in money and don't see banks or numbers as bad, STEM thinks STEM is ok without seeing people, acknoledging there is such things as negative math spirals, and can't see Tech or anything as political (bad owners while using nicer-looking 'green' material). People are not using moral mind and still in material word.... list goes on. And it's true it ALL checkmates yourself but this IS THE WORK TO BE BASHING THROUGH. Especially if the or also turn out to be quite a lot believing in fascistic component.

                                                          And as a meta-perspective people can only deal with short text so already lost by this paragraph... better to stay short / fascist / old world ignorant people than to explain all this and agree on parts / build a better future... (from beginning to the end)

                                                          IT'S ALL ONE WAY MOSTLY as " social " even on Mastodon.

                                                          No software aims to put actual people doing the social (more just develop the software)- included)... Where are they pushing people to meet and build (for non-code?)

                                                          Sounds like I'm knocking things - I'm not - just social people don't exist.

                                                          or let us two do it and grow some social here more than a few long thread mostly about Tech and frankly bourgeoisie converations...

                                                          it's futile, fleeting and crushing here like a needle in a haystack that my account shows (I had also accounts before this similar).

                                                          A lot of time people just get blocked by those they see as a hero or whatever just for writing a lot.

                                                          IT'S MOSTLY ALL ONE WAY - maybe I'm not into fooling people WHILE you can get nice comments and some social back. But it's in between the rest of like and crap news taking over instead of positive vehicles of constant chat and social people pushing that.
