Today I have hooked up the display (Waveshare 1.8-inch LCD Module) with the Arduino (Nano ESP32) . I have done this a few times before using the example provided by Waveshare. This time however, I rewrote it (basically copying it line by line) just so I would understand what is actually going on. This helped a lot and I have learned a lot especially about bit shifting and what cool things you can do with that.

Doing so I have also found a couple of things to improve upon, as the way it is done in the example (at least the one for the Arduino) isn't really efficient. I wrote about how I did that on my blog. In the end I (with big help of lemmy) was able to minimize CPU time to render one image (128x160) from 2142ms down to 80ms which is enough for the time being.

The image is from the first two pixels I have manually created!
