"Don't be upset by all this device and internet survielance, it's not a military dictatorship" they used to say before Trump built a personal racist military, and subverted the FBI and Department of Justice, and got military commanders calling his orders the voice of god.

The problem with having a surveillance state is not that they will know everything about you. The problem is that they will assert that they know everything about you. And you’re screwed either way; no matter if they’re right or wrong.

Age Verification isn't a technical problem to solve. If you think that, you're missing the point.

It's a social problem used by authoritarian governments as an excuse for population control and censorship.

It's a fundamental attack on free speech and democracy.

This Q. however is really this one: does your MP represent your views or the views of their party?

If you vote for a candidate based on their values, personality etc. then there can be little justification for calling a by-election if they change party...

But if we really vote for the party as *represented* by the candidate then changing parties is unacceptable.
