Samsung is introducing a Privacy mode that can selectively apply to only certain areas of the screen (like notifications). When viewing the phone from an angle instead, these zones (or the whole screen) would appear black. Video past the link.

Which email service (not self hosted for 2 reasons, effort, and deny-listing) do you recommend for own domain addresses, that has IMAP access and is not US nor EU/UK (not crazy about Russia either, but perhaps distributing my data over different dictatorships is not the worst idea, they will never work together to get the full picture)?

I currently use Zoho, the free one, no IMAP, just web mail, no PGP, so I encrypt a text file with what I would normally write in the email body and attach, but that makes communication with non-IT people difficult. Now I want something I can simply use in Thunderbird and I am willing to pay.

Everyone talks about GDPR, but the UAE is quietly building its own data governance model.

The UAE Federal Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), AI Strategy 2031, and sovereign cloud initiatives signal a regional push toward digital sovereignty.

                                            Important nuance:

                                            • Data localization is mostly sector-specific (finance, healthcare, payments)
                                            • Not a blanket national requirement — but directionally significant.

                                            Privacy strategy is becoming geopolitical.
