"Mastered by desire impulsive,
By a mighty inward urging,
I am ready now for singing,
Ready to begin the chanting
Of our nationâs ancient folk-song..."

This is an
Ode to a
Forgotten
Poem,
Standing
Like a
Sarsen stone
Against
The emptiness,
In ecstatic
Silence.
Theyâve managed
To map the
Dark matter
In the universe,
But I still canât
Find a reason
To forgive you.
The stars shine
Brightest where
The darkness
Is most complete.
Let your eyes
Adjust. Keep
Looking up.
Let the
Darkness
Serve only
To make the
Light that much
Brighter when
It returns.
Open your eyes,
A new dawn
Awaits.

The light
From the
Singularity
Is still traveling,
And it shines
From behind
Your eyes,
You luminous
Being.
In the spaces
Between breaths,
And when the
Heart rests,
We are deathless.
Meet me now
In that place.

đą a nice little poem about turtles đą
"The Terrapin", by Wendell Berry
The terrapin and his house are one.
Though he may go, heâs never gone.
Heâs housed within, from nose to toe:
A door, a floor, and no window.
Thereâs little room; the light is dim;
His furniture is only him.
He doesnât speak what he thinks about;
Where no guest comes, a thoughtâs a shout.
He pokes along; heâs in no haste:
He has no map and no suitcase;
He has no worries and no woes,
For where he is is where he goes.
Ponder this wonder under his dome
Who, wandering, is always home.

I will stitch
The wound
With laughter,
With deranged
Determination,
And the scar
Will remind me
I am still
Alive.
Let my rage
Speak for all
The women in
My bloodline
Who were silenced:
We will not succumb.
Not this time.
We will overcome.
The stars
In my skull
Put these
Words down
One after another
For the stars
In yours,
And in that
Way we are
Together,
Here,
Now.
Poetry is not my natural phrasing, but I had an attempt one day!
I live by the sea, and when the tide is low you can walk to a small uninhabited island via a natural causeway. I penned this after one such visit.
