speech synthesizers don't sound robotic anymore, not at all. A bit strange sometimes, but not the emotionless voices we usually associate with speech synthesis.

Morpheus TTS is still rather rough, often makes weird mistakes like stuttering or just making random noises, sometimes using the wrong word, but it is in its early stages. And there's an uncensored version over at Huggingface, so I just couldn't resist and make "Baddy" (the name of the voice model) say:

"Why doesn't the Proletariat, being the bigger of the classes, just eat the Bourgeoisie?"

This generally means that if about 20 people listen to that episode, the company made a profit on that episode, without factoring in overhead.... Podcast topics are selected with the help of AI, based on Google and social media trends, and then the team may launch five different versions of the show with different titles to see what performs the best. I wonder when people will get it - AI may or may not be effective at any given job (ok, probably more on the “not” side), but that doesn’t matter to private equity if it’s less expensive than human capital and makes the stock go up and to the right.

The only thing Wall Street loves more than layoffs right now is AI - and it isn’t a secret that they’re trying to combine them both. #AI #people #NewYork #TimesSquare
