On most previous social media apps, I used to look at my likes and reposts obsessively.

On the #fediverse I notice I don’t even click them open, I dismiss the notifications and look at what’s up in the world instead. Sometimes I note: ”Oh, my post is trending, cool.”

Some old "retro" washing machines, tubs and other equipment used around the middle of the 19th century. THE FINE ART AMERICA LOGO WILL NOT SHOW ON PURCHASED PRINTS OR PRODUCTS. Clothes washer technology developed as a way to reduce the manual labor spent, providing an open basin or sealed container with paddles or fingers to automatically agitate the clothing. The earliest machines were hand-operated and constructed from wood, while later machines made of metal permitted a fire to burn below the washtub, keeping the water warm throughout the day's washing. The earliest special-purpose washing device was the scrub board, invented in 1797.
