In a note to engineers inviting them to a meeting to discuss recent outages, Amazon said there has been a "trend of incidents" in recent months, characterized by "Gen-AI assisted changes," among other factors. Dave Treadwell, a senior vice-president, told employees that senior engineers will now need to sign off AI-assisted changes from junior and mid-level engineers. Here's more from @arstechnica.

                                              Anthropic sues the Trump administration

Anthropic says the Pentagon’s “supply chain risk” label is unlawful retaliation for its public refusal to let Claude be used for autonomous weapons or mass surveillance, arguing the designation exceeds the statute’s purpose, harms the company economically by effectively blacklisting it from Pentagon contracts, and seeks a court order blocking enforcement. The supply-chain risk label is typically reserved for foreign-adversary threats; applying it to a U.S. developer is highly unusual.

Despite Anthropic’s public stance, the company had indeed been approved for use on classified networks and worked with contractors (including ) on government projects.
