Ladybird on four-leaf clover is a detail from the watercolor painting A lucky day painted by the artist Karen Kaspar. The original painting was painted in landscape format. Here, a section in square format was chosen. Another cut-out in portrait format is also available in my shop. Choose for yourself which format fits best in your rooms.
The watercolor painting is built up of many layers of different bright fresh green tones and shows the abstracted detail of a wildflower meadow with many four-leaf clovers. On one of the clovers sits a red ladybird with black dots. Due to the strong complementary contrast between red and green, this little lucky ladybird is the focus of the picture and attracts attention. The four-leaf clovers and the ladybird are symbols of luck. I wish you that this picture brings a lot of luck and joy into your home.

Every April, Texas fields & roadsides bloom with bluebonnets, turning quiet landscapes into rivers of blue.

    Where the Wildflowers Are-> chrystyne-novack.pixels.com/fe

his is my 1,800 print!!! After 13+ years I have attained this large amount of work to my portfolio!

Every April the rural fields, roadsides, and public areas in Texas bloom with beautiful bluebonnets, transforming quiet landscapes into rivers of blue. In Where the Wildflowers Are, a hillside bursts with blossoms beside a peaceful country road. A white fence stretches down the hill like a ribbon, creating a graceful leading line, while the road opposite follows the same path. Together they guide the viewer through the scene. With a playful nod to imagination, the title invites us to wander where the wildflowers grow.

Yosemite Falls in Black and White

Yosemite Valley and Yosemite Falls is viewed by more than 3 million people every year. Most visit the park during the spring, summer and fall, while relatively few visit during the winter.
It can be cold, snowy, rainy or warm and sunny all depending on what is blowing in off of the Pacific 4 to 8 hours earlier.

Yosemite Falls in Black and White

The photograph opens like a breath of cold mountain air—Yosemite Falls rising out of the valley in stark black‑and‑white drama, every detail sharpened by winter’s grip.
The upper fall dominates the frame, a white torrent dropping from a cleft in the granite as if poured from the sky itself. The water doesn’t look soft or misty—it looks heavy, almost metallic, a bright vertical ribbon against the dark, weather‑worn rock. You can almost hear it: a deep, continuous roar echoing through the cold morning air.
The storm that passed earlier has left the valley in a state of restless calm. Light breaks through in angled beams, catching the waterfall and the frozen spray clinging to the cliff. The shadows are deep and velvety, giving the granite walls a sense of mass and age—like ancient cathedral pillars carved by time.
A faint frozen beard of ice clings around the plunge pool and lower lip of the falls, its texture rough and crystalline. You can almost feel the bite of the cold—air so sharp it stings your nose, the kind that makes every sound ring clearer.

Yosemite Falls in Black and White II

This image shows what is known as the beard of Yosemite Falls. The frozen ice that freezes along the sides of the fall overnight. As the day moves on and the day warms up the beard starts melting of and can completely melt by the end of the day.

Yosemite Falls In Black And White II

The photograph captures Yosemite Falls in stark black and white, transforming the familiar cascade into something almost mythic. The towering granite walls rise like ancient monoliths, their surfaces etched with deep shadows and pale highlights that feel cold to the touch—like stone that has never fully warmed, even in summer.

From the upper reaches of the frame, the waterfall plunges downward in a long, silken ribbon of white. In monochrome, the water looks less like liquid and more like drifting smoke or torn fabric, pulled relentlessly by gravity. You can almost hear the distant roar—a low, continuous thunder softened by the winter air.

Along the sides of the falls clings the “beard” of ice: thick, frozen drapery that appears heavy and brittle. It hangs in jagged layers, like crystal armor. You can imagine the texture—rough, sharp, and cold enough to sting your fingertips. In places, the ice catches the light and glows faintly, as if lit from within.

The surrounding cliffs are massive and brooding. Their surfaces are mottled with snow and shadow, giving them a rugged, weathered presence. The air in the scene feels crisp and thin, the kind that fills your lungs with a clean, metallic chill.

The overall mood is powerful and serene at once—nature in its raw winter form, stripped of color, leaving only texture, contrast, and the elemental force of falling water.

Kid was having a meltdown at the zoo, so I put her in front of the aquarium with this fish.
          This fish works.
Thank god for this fish specifically.

Photo of a gar fish. It is long and thin with small fins, and colors of light brown and beige with black spots.
