              "Bird Gods" is a strange book from 1898. It argues that birds are the root of most mythologies. Not death, childbirth, sex, war, astronomy, or any of that fluff.

                                      Observed this amazing creature hunting along the sea-shore recently.
                                      A study in the majesty and engineering of nature.
                                      How perfectly still the head remains…
