There needs to be an urgent rethink on digital ID age checks.

Unregulated providers sitting on a pot of highly sensitive data. What could go wrong?

Breaches have already happened, T&Cs allow them to use it for advertising purposes and behind-the-scenes links to surveillance companies.

Richell is scheduled to appear before Colorado lawmakers today, April 23, and asks for backup in the form of stories about kids who have built or made things thanks to unhindered use of open source software.

Age verification laws forcing platforms to restrict content access have been multiplying exponentially.

The problem is, implementing such measures necessarily requires identifying every user accessing the content, one way or another.

This is bad news for everyone.

                                If these regulations continue
to proliferate, this could lead to the end of pseudonymity online, and much worse.
