A very red rooster and a speckled hen living on a farm in New South Wales, Australia. The rooster's feathers were a lovely dark rich red and had a beautiful shine as if he conditioned them with hair conditioner. I loved the speckled hen with all the texture and varying colors in her feathers. I couldn't resist adding the speech bubble with the hen asking the rooster - "Will You Marry Me?" There were numerous other hens that lived on the same property and I felt this one was jealous! Just adds a bit of comedy to this chicken portrait. De andere grote reden dat veel #fediverse #instances #threads hebben ge-defedereerd is omdat #Meta wel berichten naar buiten duwde maar nauwelijks berichten afkomstig van buiten naar binnen doorplaatste. Op #Mastodon zag je dus wel berichten van Threads maar vervolgens zag je op Threads geen berichten en reacties van Mastodon instances. Dat heeft heel veel administrators doen besluiten een blokkade op te werpen. En er was uiteraard de datahonger van #Meta.

Het is simpel, dit kan morgen veranderen. Wanneer #Zuckerberg besluit om berichten afkomstig van de #Fediverse wel gewoon netjes zichtbaar te maken voor de gebruikers van #Threads en dat wereldkundig maakt, dan zijn er wellicht wel wat instances te porren om het weer toe te laten. If you know people on social.cologne who aren’t Zionists/genocide supporters please let them know that they cannot see posts by me and others who oppose Israel’s ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people as our instances and accounts are blocked by their Zionist/pro-genocide server.

I can only assume Zionist/pro-genocide servers will not be allowed according to mastodon.social’s new server covenant and suggested as safe spaces to newcomers to the fediverse (including Palestinians suffering through genocide, ethnic cleansing, and apartheid) but it would be good to have official confirmation of this.

It’s time for people (and mastodon servers) to be unapologetically unambiguous about which side of history they stand on.

Among other things, they cause high #energy consumption, which is not incurred directly on the smartphone, but in #datacenters and transmission networks. A large proportion of the #electricity consumption is due to the fact that these apps do not respect #privacy and data protection, but instead spy on users.

The use of #Mastodon and other #Fediverse services is more sustainable because much less data is exchanged between users' smartphones and the service instances.
