A lot of the toxicity around #ai / #LLM is because it was delivered as capitalism distillate.

Normal people don't start gobbling down every piece of content to try to manufacture God.

They don't bolt features people don't want onto products and ignore consent.

They don't write blank cheques based solely on the narrative of firing white-collar workers.

Only the trillion-dollar babies could come up with that.

If the CS geeks and hobbyists had delivered LLMs first, would it look different?

"Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) just inked a $12.2 million contract for an artificial intelligence tool that claims to map out immigrants’ daily routines, habits, and real-time location and categorize them as potential threats, per procurement records reviewed by the Lever.

Dubbed “Project SAFE HAVEN,” the product is advertised by defense vendor Edge Ops LLC as a “question-based AI interface” that uses “persistent passive data collection” to map “patterns of life,” a surveillance tactic that ICE says will identify the “habitual locations, routes, and behavioral patterns” of its targets.

Additional features of the technology described in procurement documents include real-time location tracking and analysis that will categorize individuals and groups as affiliated with ostensible criminal organizations, such as gangs or cartels. That includes building “target profiles” that track individuals’ activity by linking data obtained from Wi-Fi network connections and mobile smart devices, such as cell phones and smartwatches.

A promotional blurb for the tool on Edge Ops LLC’s website claims that Project SAFE HAVEN “transforms the way we identify, locate, and map illegal migrants.”"

Playing with #OpenClaw, and I have found a few things that you probably want to heed when you start up. I am using #Telegram as my interface. This accumulates your conversation into a session as you converse. Everything in the entire session gets sent back and forth every call. This can lead to a token bonfire! Especially if there are images and files attached.

Because #OpenClaw keeps a memory, it's safe to start a new session "/new" when appropriate.

I finally started messing with #OpenClaw last night, but it will get you rate-limited pretty quickly. I ended up moving it away from my #ClaudeCLI account and into an API account. With very minimal usage, am already up to $3 in spending.

I tried this because I was interested in the Memory feature, but it doesn't seem to remember most things.
