🔓 "If you are naughty, you will get sent to the borstal!". Did anyone's parents say that to them when they were younger?
A "borstal" was a type of young offenders' prison in the UK. Most of them closed down in the 1960s/70s.
Similar to a penitentiary, the emphasis was on education rather than punishment. In reality, they were often violent and oppressive.

125 years ago today: a brand-new baseball club played their first ever home game in #Boston, at the Huntington Avenue Grounds.
A huge crowd of 11,000 watched the "Boston Americans" beat the Philly Athletics 12-4. The winning pitcher was some guy named Cy Young. That's him, seated on the far right of the front row, with the center part in his hair.
The nickname #RedSox didn't take hold for another 7 years, but the team was immediately more popular than the Boston Braves, who played across the street.

Again, I challenge the traditional concept of authorship by arguing that creating written work has always been a matter of social attribution rather than manual production. The use of AI/LLMs is just the latest evolution in a long history of collaborative writing, much like the accepted roles of ghostwriters, speech writers, and editors.
