Isn't itself part of the same war on people inside any country?

Picture shows a line of people arm on arm towards the same main thing:

Spending for war. From politician on the left to the soldier on the right.

A domino chain of sorts.

Stuff like '#hospitals' and are just different for-#profit machines that they don't care or pay properly for in or jobs (even in their own measure of paying for ).

It's just about even-more & right?

      A quotation from Theodore Roosevelt

My duty was to stand with every one while he was right, and to stand against him when he went wrong; and this I have tried to do as regards individuals and as regards groups of individuals. When a business man or labor leader, politician or reformer, is right, I support him; when he goes wrong, I leave him.

Theodore Roosevelt (1858–1919) American politician, statesman, conservationist, writer, US President (1901–1909)
Autobiography, ch. 5 “Applied Idealism” (1913)

People will say you have no expectation of privacy in public, and that is true, but it's not what we're actually talking about.

For the VAST majority of human history, we had no expectation of being *recorded*.

It's only the last few decades that that was even possible.

The (new) Govt. will reduce business rates by 20% for a wide range of hospitality businesses, but will also review rate relief received by businesses that 'do not make a positive contribution to local communities' - perhaps vaping shops, and one might hope, betting shops?

This would likely involve a shift from business rate relief based on size of business to one based on business focus... the Q. is how business lobbying (betting specially) will respond?

I was distracted by the notion of colonialism today, so I took some notes. We tend to treat colonialism as pertaining to countries 'out there' – 'over there'. If we are victims of colonisation, the oppressor is 'out there' but looking in.

Friends, soulwise, these are trying times. Now is the time for all good citizens to come to the aid of our country, and it won’t help if you all cower in places like Madison and the Upper West Side, having hot fantods over the approach of fascism. To the barricades, team. And for Lord’s sake, don’t leave your sense of humor behind.

There's lots of interest here, but perhaps the biggest issue is not so much what different systems might deliver, but rather how one might get from here to one of these other options (as well as which might be preferable; in itself an issue for argument)

As France follows Australia in banning social media use for the under-15s the key will be the form & practice of the state-approved age-verification process mandated from January.

Here, the debate on such a social media ban (supported by Keir Starmer) has been the age-verification process' invasion of privacy & its data requirement(s).

The Q. is: can France find a way to meet such objections, or merely ride roughshod over them?
