These are America's ten worst states to live in for 2026 according to a recent CNBC article.

    10. Arkansas (103)
    9. Oklahoma (103)
    8. Alabama (99)
    7. Missouri (98)
    6. Utah (95)
    5. Georgia (89)
    4. Louisiana (89)
    3. Indiana (82)
    2. Texas (78)
    ⭐ Tennessee (64)

I did a bit of light digging and every single state on this list has a Republican governor and a Republican majority in their state legislatures.

    Crazy, right?

And so the surveillance society continues to expand as retailers deploy facial recognition technology (that triggers immediate police alerts) into the high street.

The technical problems with FR systems are well known as are the challenges to privacy - the UK's road to becoming a police state continues (no, we're not there yet, but the direction of travel is pretty clear).

So as a YouGov poll suggests the majority of Britons think the Fascist Frog is sleazy, the FT is reporting that many of ReformUK's key players have been deepening their connection(s) in Montenegro, likely reflecting the President's aspiration for the country to become a 'crypto-hub'.... and its character as a 'flawed democracy' open to political corruption. All things ReformUK folk are keen on.

I've been asked by many why I don't become a politician.
My answer is basically - Why would I enter a corrupt system, knowing it can't be reformed from the inside & where caucus power outweighs/ostracizes any 'goodness' any well intentioned new politician may have entered with?
Why would I try to contribute to a overly broken FPTP corrupt electoral system? I'd be very delusional if I did believe change can happen inside fully corrupted government systems.

Even as the Govt. wonders why people (and pension trustees) don't wan't to invest in UK firms, the Financial Conduct Authority concludes that just over 40% of all take-overs in the UK are preceded by 'suspicious trading' in the two days before announcement; given that such insider trading could also be happening before that period, the figure of 40% is most likely an underestimate.

People think the UK share market s rigged, and as this shows, indeed it is!

Oil jumped more than 6% before most of us had coffee, because a man decided at 6am to announce the ceasefire he brokered was "over." Three commercial ships hit in the Strait of Hormuz. Sanctions slammed back. Just like that.

The tell never changes: the human cost lands nowhere near the podium. It lands on us. Through that strait moves 20% of the planet's oil, and 6,000 seafarers are stranded in it this week — real engine rooms, real people, not chess pieces.

There is a specific silence in a car when the numbers on the gas pump keep climbing past where your brain said stop. A woman in a Kroger lot in Marietta this week, engine off, doing the arithmetic that decides whether the tank gets filled or the kid gets shoes.

That math is the war. The math in the Kroger lot. Engine off. Shoes or gas.

The damage, itemized: gas up roughly $1.16 a gallon since this war began, California counties past $6. Jet fuel up 95%. And the Strait carries over 30% of the world's urea — the fertilizer that grows the corn and wheat. So the war doesn't stop at the pump. It walks into the grocery store. It sits down at your table.

Whether the US/Iran 'ceasefire' is still in place after the overnight exchange of attacks seems unclear... or perhaps like so many things connected to the Tangerine Tyrant, the meaning of 'ceasefire' is only what suits him at any particular moment.

In any case, overnight oil prices have risen, Iran's ability to sell its own oil has been constrained by the US, and this second round of strikes is larger than those a week ago.
