                    Today was one of those days where everything moved at once.

                    I shipped two versions of my NVDA word prediction add-on. v1.0.0 fixed keyboard conflicts that were pointed out by a community member, moved the management keys to NVDA+Alt+P/O/L, and added a custom app exclusion list so users can disable predictions in apps where they don't want them. v1.1.0 added punctuation-aware insertion, so when you accept a prediction after a period, it adds the space and capitalizes for you. Both are on GitHub.

                    I published a new essay called "Becoming" on lanie.work. It's about the last seven months. The psych eval that stopped short. The health decline. Letting go of the identity I was clinging to. Disowning my sisters. Embracing long-term care. Finding peace with who I'm becoming, even while some questions are still unanswered.

                    Then I checked my Cloudflare analytics. 1,780 unique visitors in the last 24 hours. 15,520 in the last 30 days. Nearly a gigabyte of my words served in a month. I'm still processing that.

                    I got invited to interview with Fable. I found out my group home initial meeting is Thursday at 11 AM. And I applied to two paid research studies on User Interviews, one about small business ownership and one about AI tool usage, both of which I'm a good fit for.

                    I'm lying in bed with a V8 energy drink, We the Kingdom playing "Waking Up" on my Spotify Upbeat Mix, and a grin on my face that won't quit.

                    This year took almost everything. And what's left is somehow more honest, more real, more me than anything I was before.

                                                                                How Bright Is Yourย Lamp?

                                                                                How much light do you have? God challenged me with these questions as my Gem of Knowledge today: "How much light do you have? How much oil do you have? How bright do you keep your lamp burning? Enough for others to come to the light or just enough to barely see for yourself? Who will have the more rewarding journey? Amen." Is my walk with Christ just enough to get me through the day? Or is my life shining brightly enough that someone else might be drawn toward Jesus because of what they see in me? The truth is, people who are lost don't need to see a dimly glowing faith. They need to see the hope, peace, joy, and love that only Jesus can produce. They need someone whose lamp is burning brightly enough to help guide them toward the Savior. Go shine. You never know whose path God intends to illuminate through your life. ๐Ÿ’Ž [SENSITIVE CONTENT]

                                                                                Shine the Light of Christ

                                                                                How much light do you have?

                                                                                It’s a question worth askingโ€”not because Jesus’ light is limited, but because our willingness to continually seek Him often is.

                                                                                God challenged me with these questions as my Gem of Knowledge today:

                                                                                “How much light do you have? How much oil do you have? How bright do you keep your lamp burning? Enough for others to come to the light or just enough to barely see for yourself? Who will have the more rewarding journey? Amen.”

                                                                                That last question stopped me.

                                                                                Is my walk with Christ just enough to get me through the day? Or is my life shining brightly enough that someone else might be drawn toward Jesus because of what they see in me?

                                                                                When Solomon dedicated the temple, every detail reflected God’s glory. The temple wasn’t built to draw attention to itself. It was built so people would encounter the presence of God. In much the same way, our lives were never meant to point people to ourselves. We are living temples of the Holy Spirit, called to reflect His light in a dark world.

                                                                                Paul reminds us in Romans 7 that the law exposes our sin, but it cannot transform our hearts. Only Jesus can do that. The brighter His light shines within us, the more clearly we recognize the areas He wants to refine. His light doesn’t condemn usโ€”it lovingly reveals what still needs to be surrendered so we can become more like Him.

                                                                                David writes in Psalm 17,

                                                                                “Guard me as you would guard your own eyes. Hide me in the shadow of your wings.”ย (Psalm 17:8, NLT)

                                                                                What a beautiful picture of God’s care. As we remain close to Him, protected beneath His wings, He continues filling our lamps with fresh oil and His light shines more brightly through us.

                                                                                The truth is, people who are lost don’t need to see a dimly glowing faith. They need to see the hope, peace, joy, and love that only Jesus can produce. They need someone whose lamp is burning brightly enough to help guide them toward the Savior.

                                                                                So don’t settle for just enough oil to make it through another day.

                                                                                Spend time with Jesus. Stay in His Word. Worship Him. Pray. Let Him continually refill your lamp. This is where we find peace in your storms, joy in any circumstance, contentment that the world can never satisfy, forgiveness for yourself and others, wisdom for our decisions, strength for our weaknesses, and hope that never fades. As His light fills us, it naturally begins to overflow into every conversation, every decision, and every relationship.

                                                                                Don’t simply ask yourself, “Do I have enough oil?”

                                                                                Ask yourself, “Is my lamp burning brightly enough that someone else can find Jesus because of the light they see in me?”

                                                                                Choose today to spend time in His presence, open His Word, worship Him, and let Him refill your heart.

                                                                                Go shine. You never know whose path God intends to illuminate through your life. ๐Ÿ’Ž

                                                                                Action (5 Minutes with God)

                                                                                Take 5 minutes to fill your lamp today with God. Ask Him:

                                                                                • โ€œLord, what do You want me to know about this personally?โ€
                                                                                  • Journal what He gives you through His Holy Spirit.
                                                                                • Then ask, โ€œWhat do You want me to do?โ€
                                                                                  • Journal what He reveals โ€“ย then do it!

                                                                                Allow Him to refill your heart with fresh oil so His light shines through you.

                                                                                Prayer

                                                                                Jesus, thank You for being the Light of the world. I don’t want to settle for a dimly burning lamp or yesterday’s oil. Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit and help me remain close to You every day. Let my life shine so brightly with Your love, truth, and peace that others are drawn to you, not because of me, but because they see You in me. Keep my lamp burning until the day I see You face to face. In Your mighty name I pray, Amen.
