The way I approach (trying to) keeping my private info safe: when I am going to use a website which wants personal information, I either:

1. Ignore the privacy policy and just don't give any personal information they could abuse (or leak!) in the first place. Or,
2. Read the privacy policy of the site (or use an LLM to summarize the privacy policy if it's super long (and if you're OK with auto-summarizing) ) to determine whether or not you want to use it any longer, and if the privacy policy is OK, give them the information (if you have to).
