We had an inclusive coalition of organisations willing to sponsor speakers, we were designing cool "not a techbro" stickers, and just lots of cool ideas to platform #FOSS people we generally don't see at #FOSDEM.

At a time where female representation in #opensource is at 9.8% (let alone any other intersectionalities), tech bro culture is infiltrating open source projects, and marginalized communities increasingly rely on these FOSS alternatives, we thought this track would be a no brainer.

The Colorado Symphony's performance of compositions they commissioned by Joe Hisaishi was wonderful! Though, Hisaishi was apparently unable to travel to conduct. Here's hoping he will not have difficulties with future travel plans and will be conducting at the SF Symphony for "Hisaishi conducts Hisaishi" since I have a ticket to one of those three shows later this week.

Replacing a VPS is straightforward. Preserving the relay’s identity takes preparation.

Tor Guard Relay v2.2.0 can now:

✅ Verify the complete archive before you need it
🧰 Restore into an offline staging directory for inspection before activation

It also brings clearer health diagnostics and tighter checks before publishing container images.

I'm finally ready to publicly announce Tallfree, a custom firmware for the Roland SP-404MKII which allows blind people to fully use the device with speech. 2 weeks later, lots of testing, and a hell of a lot of card swaps, it's good enough to reliably use to make music! At this point it's the centerpiece of my studio and honestly I couldn't be happier with it.
Attached is an audio recording of me playing with the device, showing off some beats I made on it, and just rambling about it for a while. You can listen to it if you're curious about how Tallfree works but don't have the machine / don't want to run it your self for whatever reason.
